Compensation: $119,500 - $179,200 annual salary

Summary:

The Corvallis Clinic Surgery Center Director is responsible for the successful management and daily operations of the Surgical Center. Provides physicians with all the resources and services necessary to meet the needs of patients and meet the financial and clinical objectives of the organization.

Principal Responsibilities:

1.Will participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards document. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within.

2.Accountable to the Governing Body and responsible for implementing initiatives determined by the Governing Body.

3.Manages surgery center resources in a fiscally responsible manner and in accordance with established annual budget.

4.Creates an environment conducive to growth in connection with The Corvallis Clinic.

5.Develops proper clinical procedures that ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality.

6.Develops appropriate admission and discharge procedures also assuring that pre-admission criteria are appropriately met.

7.Researches and prepares cost reduction and revenue enhancement proposals and implements them as applicable.

8.Evaluates ongoing patient care and reports significant patient problems to appropriate individuals or committees.

9.Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure personnel policy development and communication to staff to achieve consistency in labor and employee relations.



  1. Serves as resource and role model for staff.

  2. Plans, evaluates, recommends, and implements new initiatives when appropriate.

  3. Selects and hires employees according to established guidelines, monitors, coaches, develop and evaluate performance of staff on an ongoing basis in accordance with applicable performance standards.

  4. Assures compliance with all policies and procedures and governmental regulations pertaining to:


a) Controlled substances

b) Infection Control

c) Patient Confidentiality

d) CPR, ACLS, safety and risk management in collaboration with Clinic RN Educator and Human Resources

e) Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance

f) Emergency Codes and evacuation

g) Professional Licensure

h) CMS regulatory requirements



  1. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with vendors, employees, managers, and physicians.

  2. Assists with the development of patient education material.

  3. Supports and promotes a positive image of The Corvallis Clinic and The Corvallis Clinic Surgery Center when dealing with patients and others inside and outside the organization.

  4. Monitors patient service feedback and contributes to the process of resolving complaints and service issues.

  5. Utilize Ambulatory Surgery Center key metrics and benchmarks to drive best practices at the center.

  6. Performs other duties as assigned, assisting in all areas as needed to balance workload and assure proper patient care.


Education, Licensure and Experience:

1.One of the following is required:

  • Master's degree in business or healthcare

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. (Master's degree preferred.)

2.Direct experience with State and Federal regulations and ambulatory surgery center accreditation agencies highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

1.Ability to read and communicate effectively. Proficient in the use of personal computers, ability to multitask, problem solve, meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities and situations and demonstrate excellent organizational skills.

2.Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be detail oriented and organized. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information. Must be able to exercise good judgement and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency.

3.Knowledge of state-specific and federal healthcare regulations and standards as these pertain to the clinical areas within an Ambulatory Surgery Center. Familiar with achieving and maintaining facility licensure, certifications, and accreditations of regulatory and accreditation organizations.

4.Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies. Ability to effectively present information to administrative leadership and medical committees as required.
