AmeriWound's affiliated physicians are highly trained wound care providers, who assess, diagnose, treat, monitor and heal patient wounds. Our provider documentation is concise and survey focused, meeting all facility medical standards.

Our wound certified educators train, educate and guide our affiliated physicians and client facilities on the most efficacious wound care treatments and follow up. As a result, client facilities realize improved wound healing results, improved survey scores and NTA reimbursement under PDPM.

Position Overview

AmeriWound is recruiting full-time and part-time Board Eligible and Board Certified physicians to treat wound care patients in SNFs ALFs and other clinical settings.

Our physicians round weekly Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm. NO CALL, NO WEEKENDS, NO EVENING HOURS. AmeriWound affiliated physicians enjoy an excellent work-life balance, while earning uncapped compensation - based on the number of patient encounters/visits.


Physician wound care training is provided and supported by certified wound care specialists.


-Round at client facilities; two to three days per week for part-time or four to five days per week for full-time

-Assess patient wounds and establish treatment plans to heal any and all skin integrity issues

-Document timely and accurately in our EHR

-Work collaboratively with client facilities staff to ensure high quality wound care

-Perform procedures as needed


-MD or DO

-Board Eligible or Board Certified

-Unrestricted licensure


-Excellent diagnostic and treatment skills

-Strong verbal and written communication skills

-EHR/EMR proficiency

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Provides basic personal care to patients as delegated by the RN and included on the Hospice Aide plan of care. * Answers call lights promptly and follow through with patient requests. * Prepares rooms for new patients. * Meets safety needs of patients and uses equipment safely and appropriately. * Assists patients at meal times including but not limited to ordering, feeding, and tray distribution as assigned and defined by the Hospice Aide plan of care. * Provides basic skin care to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominence and reports observations to the RN. * Observes patients conditions/symptoms and reports observations to the RN. * Assists in ambulation and exercise as delegated by the RN and included on the Hospice Aide plan of care. * Assists with bedpans, urinals, colostomy care, and catheter care. * Assists with personal laundry and light housekeeping related to the patient care area. * Provides emotional support to patient and family. * Demonstrates excellent customer service both internal and external. * Answers phone calls promptly and in a polite manner. * Accurately and thoroughly documents care provided according to agency standards. * Prepares equipment for return to vendor and places in appropriate storage area. * Stocks supplies according to par lists. * Responsible for learning and utilizing technology made available by the agency to increase efficiency, communication and performance of duties. * Attends staff meetings and completes all mandatory training. * Holds in strictest confidence all patient information and discloses information and data only to persons authorized by Hospice. * Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS * Must be a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) or able to obtain within first 90 days of employment. * 6 months of work experience in a home health agency, hospital, and/or long-term care facility or is actively enrolled in an accredited LPN/RN school of nursing with evidence of clinical skills training. * Has working experience charting in an EMR system, Cerner system preferred. * High school graduate or equivalent. * Demonstrates ability to read, write and follow direction and instruction. * Has the physical ability necessary for extensive standing, lifting, and pushing. * Demonstrates interest and empathy for the terminally ill and is comfortable with issues of death and dying. * Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively and professionally with patients, families and other co-workers.
