Responsibilities

  • Scheduling of surgical procedures

  • Collect Charges

  • Review log and match charges to documentation

  • Ensure charge sheets are filled out correctly for data entry

  • If no charge sheets, identify charges from documentation (via Chart Review scanned documents, equipment/supply sheets, etc.), verify with appropriate staff, or if necessary, contact related business offices to fax documents

  • Ensure processes are in place to help capture and document supplies and procedures

  • Run reports to ensure that all patients receiving care are accounted for

  • Review charge sheet for completeness

  • Identify possible omissions or errors

  • Review charges for supporting documentation, ensure double charging does not occur

  • Edit all charges (stickers, implants, supplies, added/deleted items)

  • Review if documentation is complete enough to charge accurately

  • Check chart for accuracy on forms

  • Follow-up with appropriate staff on incomplete/inaccurate information daily

  • Post charges daily

  • Answers phones and communicates workflow changes with all departmental staff

  • Assists Surgeons, MDAs CRNAs and nursing staff courteously and positively and prioritizes the work

  • Clarifies orders with appropriate resources as necessary

  • Follows policy for signing off physician orders

  • Special Projects to support Surgical Care Center

Education

  • High School Graduate or equivalent

  • Completion of business and/or healthcare program (HUC, NA, CMA, EMT) or equivalent experience

This includes developing, improving, and supervising systems and business processes to provide efficient, effective, and economical delivery of services to support agency data analysis and access to quality data to inform sound decision making. You will supervise and direct staff who conduct research projects and analyses that serve the entire agency to help make high-level decisions. This includes promoting the integration of advanced analytics, statistics, visualization methods and geospatial analysis tools into agency programs to support strategic plan goals and increase understanding of regulatory, environmental and organizational performance issues. Position duties may require travel but driving is not a minimum qualification or essential function of this position. Employees who may drive for state business will need their driver's license checked prior to operating a state vehicle. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Candidates must clearly demonstrate the following qualifications: 1) One year of supervisory experience in environmental protection/pollution control/public health, OR 2) Two years of advanced professional experience in environmental protection/pollution control/public health. (Examples for internal candidates: Environmental Specialist 4, Planner Principal, Hydrologist 2, Engineer 2 Graduate, Research Scientist 2, or related classes), OR 3) Three years of professional-level experience in directing, designing or developing environmental programs or data analysis focused programs, OR 4) Equivalent combination of the above. Understanding of database query principles and experience applying various tools for data processing, analysis, vizualization and reporting. Accomplished project management skills to guide and direct a number of complex data development and services projects while supporting staff and problem solving laterally and vertically to determine appropriate actions. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge and/or experience with Tableau data analysis and visualization. Skills in applying data modeling and business analysis knowledge to assess the usability of data from specific inquiries. Ability to guide staff in problem solving while providing an environment that fosters risk-taking, learning, and innovation. Ability to work with ease between various levels of the organization from line staff to executive leadership. Ability to successfully recruit, retain, and develop staff. Ability to work effectively with federal, state and local partners and with a variety of stakeholder groups. Understanding of federal and state media program regulatory frameworks and their applicability to data projects. Ability to articulate the value and application of data governance, data stewardship, metadata management and other data management principles.
