Responsibilities

Surface Maintenance and Engineering Planning Program (SURFMEPP) provides centralized surface ship life cycle maintenance engineering, and class maintenance planning and management. SURFMEPP's primary mission is to maintain and modernize in-service ships throughout the ship's expected service life focusing on a complete, well-engineered, and continuously improving Class Maintenance Plan (CMP).

SURFMEPP's Corrosion Systems Analysts are the Subject Matter Experts for development of corrosion/structural project implementation, interfacing with Navy activities to develop or support corrosion/structural technologies; new corrosion mitigation initiatives, assisting in removing corrosion barriers, and communicating findings and recommendations to SURFMEPP Leadership. The Analyst will participate in Corrosion Communities of Practice Working Group events to include MegaRust, Fleet Maintenance and Modernization Symposium (FMMS) and Standard Specifications for Ship Repair and Alteration (SSRAC).

The Analyst understands database principles and maintenance, and conducts engineering analysis of all corrosion reports, identifying corrosion trends and generating metrics for interpretation by Leadership. Using Reliability Centered Maintenance principles, the Analyst will develop and maintain Class Maintenance Plans for tanks, voids, and ship structure, and develop various SURFMEPP corrosion control processes and products - ensuring alignment with higher-level guidance.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must have the following minimum skills and knowledge:• Bachelors degree in a related filed. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors.• 10 to 15 years of relevant professional experience• DOD SECRET Security Clearance• Proficiency with NSI 009-32 and other corrosion related technical documents, (i.e., NSTM 634 and 631)• Interpreting ships drawings and paint schedules

Desired Qualifications

  • Shipyard experience on Navy hulls during depot or other maintenance availability with understanding of Navy maintenance processes.• Performing research and data analysis to identify trends and relevant issues. • Drafting and delivering technical presentations• Superior written and verbal communication skills to interact with Senior U.S. Navy personnel• Perform data validation and quality control checks to show adherence to requirements.

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status.

Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis' total compensation package for employees.

USD $67,050.00 - USD $117,360.00 /Yr.
