The Surface Landman Intern works as part of a team and performs individual tasks to assist the Surface Land Team. The Surface Landman Intern will work with the Surface Landman and/or Surface Landman Team Lead to understand and assist the team in the wellsite preparation process, specifically notification to landowners, staking, surveying, and permitting of wellsite locations.

Assist department with research analysis; Utilize various web based tools to research potential oil and gas locations; Gather and verify data and enter it into spreadsheets and databases; Assist Surface Landman with negotiations and documentation required to secure and release surface locations; Develop an entry level understanding of interpreting, negotiating and preparing Surface Land related contracts, such as: ROW, Easements, Waivers, Surface Use Agreement and related documents; Develop understanding of county, state and federal regulatory rules and procedures in Texas; Demonstrate commitment to safety and environmental compliance in all job aspects; All other duties as identified by the supervisor.

The minimum level of education, experience, and certifications required to perform the job.
Enrollment in college/university, with a preference in Energy Management or Law; Completion of at least Sophomore year (Juniors, Seniors and graduate students preferred); Ability to work full time over the summer; Minimum of a 3.0 GPA; Strong interest in making a positive impact in the Oil and Gas industry.
