What You Will Do

As an Associate with Ascension Michigan, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for completion of all tasks related to the workmanlike application of wall finish materials in a timely matter and at the standard of quality prescribed by the department. Coordinates work orders with Paint Work Leader and customer. Follows safety practice guidelines prescribed by Hospital and Department at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates work schedule with affected and related Medical Center departments.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

  • Develops the skills necessary to understand and operate computer based facility related programs as they become available.

  • Maintains and upgrades the knowledge and skills affecting the quality of the work done.

What You Will Need

Education:

  • HS or Equivalent

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required.

Work Experience:

Two years of work experience in painting/wall covering trade is required.

VIEW JOBS 4/3/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-07-02T00:00 ROLE SUMMARY Primary functions include the management and improvement of the Kalamazoo Site Industrial Hygiene program, to meet regulatory compliance obligations and conformance with Pfizer Global EHS Standards. Due to the size and complexity of the site the Industrial Hygienist will have the opportunity to develop systems to control a variety of workplace hazards, for example potent compounds (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API)) chemicals, and ionizing and non-ionizing radiation sources using traditional hierarchy of control approaches such as ventilation systems, noise control, work practices and personal protective equipment. You will also be expected to be knowledgeable and have experience of implementing pharmaceutical control technologies within API manufacturing, sterile injectable and solid oral dose and laboratory operations. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES * Leads the site's industrial hygiene program by developing and implementing with the area/department owners' participation in assuring they comply with OSHA/MIOSHA regulations and Pfizer standards. * Conducts industrial hygiene assessments of new products, processes, capital investments and leads to identify and implement controls to assure colleagues' protection. * Provides information, instruction and training to increase the knowledge of industrial hygiene at all levels of the site. * Develops processes and tools assess occupational exposures using strategies that align with the AIHA Exposure Assessment Strategy (or equivalent). * Provides industrial hygiene expertise to the site emergency response team. * Develops and leads the implementation of industrial hygiene control and system improvements across the site. * Conducts investigations of working conditions for the prevention of occupational disease and industrial health hazards, with specific reference to toxic substances, noise, and harmful physical agents. * Develop and implement sampling strategies measuring airborne concentrations of dust, gases, and mists; uses air sampling instruments and collection devices collecting samples of materials to detect and evaluate employee exposure including providing solutions and determining the effectiveness of engineering and administrative controls BASIC QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or Industrial Hygiene. * At least 5 years of experience in developing and implementing of industrial hygiene programs. * Experience in working in an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient and Drug Product - Final Product (aseptic and non- aseptic) manufacturing setting that also includes Facilities, Utilities, Warehouses, and Laboratories. * Experience with identifying implementing and testing effectiveness of appropriate control technologies for potent compound manufacturing and handling. * Competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project Management, Power Point and TEAMS). * Proven experience of working in the field with area owners to identify and implement the best solutions. * Extensive experience in conducting incident investigations. * Excellent organizational, planning and leadership skills. * Ability to successfully influence and engage with multiple levels of the organization and the proven ability to lead cross functional teams is required. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * A Master's Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry or Engineering. * Experience in design of experiments and statistical analysis. * CIH certification from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene. * Experience in Project Management and Lean Concepts. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS- Must be able to perform field observations which could involve walking or standing on uneven terrain, squatting/bending/twisting/turning and reaching above shoulder height and work in various climates from extreme cold to heat. * Able to stand or walk for periods of 8 hours or more * Sit extended period * Must be able to pass a medical exam for use of a respirator * Must be able to perform complex tasks and handle multiple priorities and have the ability to perform exceptionally under high stress conditions. * Able to meet deadlines, both internally and externally NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS Candidates are expected to be on call.
