Yaskawa is currently seeking a Production Supervisor to supervise associates at its BuffaloGrove, IL facility. Responsibilities will include supervising manufacturingrelated resources, and processes in an effort to meet operation's missionstatement, quality policy, and quality objectives, as well as to accomplishdepartment and individual goals.
Plan, organize, and implement daily assemblytask schedule for all assemblers/testers, to ensure that the production outputsupports the established schedule.
Evaluate assemblers/testers overall performanceand participate in the annual goal setting objectives and performanceevaluations.
Monitor and evaluate daily activities ofassemblers/testers. Measurements includereports that track; standard hour efficiency, in-process errors, performance toproduction schedule, safety record and assembler attendance.
Utilize Kaizen activities to plan and implementimprovements to problems related to production, in process quality and finalproduct testing.
Maintain and establish assembly; in-processtesting; and other departmental procedures.
Contribute in the development of the operatingand capital expense budget, both short-term and long-term needs, andcontinually monitoring it.
Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience,preferably in a continuous improvement environment related to the manufactureof electrical/electronic equipment.
At least 3 years plant floor supervisory,group-leader, or training experience with the ability to direct workassignments, set priorities, delegate tasks, analyze situations and makequalified decisions.
Ability to plan, organize, establish and monitorwork schedules, read and write English, perform High School level math, andhave a basic knowledge of electrical circuits.
Ability to maintain and perform training relatedto assembly, test and work instructions.
Manual skills with tools in precision assemblyline work that requires frequent mental and visual attention, where the flow ofwork is intermittent and requires checking to determine quality.
Experience in soldering and wire harnessassembly in electronic/electrical cabinet assembly environment and inelectronic assembly test procedures.
Understanding of ISO 9001: 2015 or similar
Quality Management System.
Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets,data bases, and ERP software. PreferablyMicrosoft Office, and SAP.
Knowledgeable in best practices related tomanufacturing and inventory control (i.e. Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, vendormanaged inventory).
Thorough understanding of the assembly skillsused in mechanical and electrical assembly.
