Incumbent serves as a Supervisory International Broadcaster for the Indonesian Service and is recognized as a master of hard news journalism. Leads and supervises other broadcasters within the Indonesian Service in using news broadcast journalism techniques.
Trains and guides other broadcaster in using those techniques. Serves as broadcasters.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Has full editorial responsibility for directing the development and production of complex broadcast news programming for TV, radio and the Internet.
Plans and directs broadcast programming within the Indonesian Service by analyzing the political, economic and international relation trends and developing programming concepts.
Selects and approves program themes, news story ideas, etc., for appropriateness of content, balance and targeted area interest. Develops presentations to ensure a balanced news broadcast. Assigns staff members to cover events. Edits completed TV, radio or Internet scripts to ensure accuracy of tone, balance and policy conformance.
Selects and writes highly-targeted program materials or complex and balanced original news scripts for broadcast by the service. Uses a variety of sources, including area experts, daily newspapers or magazines. Writes original materials on a variety of subjects.
Provides advice to management on selection of assignments, approaches to coverage and associated logistics. Provides advice to staff on specific assignments, approaches to coverage, development of scripts, reporting techniques, etc. Revises scripts and completed broadcast projects, assists in editing and provides feedback and guidance to broadcasters.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level which is directly related to this line of work AND fluency in English and Indonesian.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience must demonstrate applicant's mastery of the journalism and broadcasting principles, practices and methods evidenced by the following: (1) Ability to target broadcast programs; (2) Conceive, develop and apply fresh, new approaches to programs and new formats; (3) Constantly adapt and recreate programming to present materials in an effective and balanced manner to attract the audience; and (4) Editorial skills to direct the development and production of complex broadcast programs.
