Position Summary:

The Clinical Supervisor assists with the coordination and management of clinical activities and is responsible for scheduling, supervising, counseling and disciplining of clinical staff. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.

Essential Functions:

The Clinical Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervises nursing and other clinical staff, including hiring, promotions, performance evaluation, skills assessments, counseling and disciplinary actions

  • Works annually with clinic manager in development of clinic budget

  • Ensures clinical staff is following proper procedures of documentation and chart review for completeness and accuracy

  • Addresses complaints in a timely manner when it is regarding the nursing function

  • Monitors and evaluates the clinical care provided by the nursing staff to all patients

  • Evaluates and communicates need for quality improvement to the clinical staff

  • Responsible for all clinic management activities when the clinic manager is out of the office

  • Supervises and coordinates the delegation and implementation of patient care of licensed and non-licensed personnel for assigned shift/area.

Reports to the clinic manager

Potential for exposure to human specimens, urine, blood and body fluids/secretions, communicable diseases, and needles. Must follow standard precautions.Hazards include exposure to human specimens, urine, blood and body fluids/secretions. All hazards are handled with extreme caution. Nurses must know and use standard universal precautions when encountering a potential biological hazard. Communicable disease precautions are taken into consideration with any possible exposure. Position is exposed daily to used needles, sharps and contaminated medical instruments. Adverse working conditions are limited to working with many patients in small work areas and wearing standard universal protective clothing

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Oklahoma or current multistate license from a Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) member state.

  • BLS Certification

  • 1 year of work experience as an RN or LPN; experience with physician practice preferred

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written)

Essential Functions: The Clinic Nurse responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: * Contributes to the assessment/reassessment of patients * Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate patient care interventions * Monitors for signs and systems related to abnormal lab values, and deviation from baseline assessments * Reports changes in patient status to the physician and initiate any new orders from the physician as directed * Promotes patient satisfaction and ensures patient confidentiality at all times. INTEGRIS Family Care Clinics: * Participates in charge management to ensure chart accuracy with each visit. * Documents patient information in the medical record accurately and timely. * Reports suspected abuse and refers patient/family to appropriate health or social resource. * Performs Venipuncture, EKG, Waived Testing, Bone Density, X Ray, and other procedures as assigned by the physician, manager or clinical supervisor. Performs sterilization of equipment after a procedure is performed. * Gathers and documents information about patient condition, which includes lab values, pain levels, patient education needs, nutritional status and potential complications. * Contributes to the assessment/re assessment of patients. * Monitors and documents patient status. * Participates in the development of the plan of care, including implementation and evaluation of appropriate patient care interventions which may include medication administration.
