The Administrative Supervisor is accountable for the overall functioning of the organization on evenings, nights, and weekends. Primarily responsible for responding to hospital administrative concerns and implementing hospital policy.

Holds oversight for inpatient units staffing and allocation of staff to meet workload demands. Assists in placement of float staff in general medical or critical divisions. The Administrative Supervisor collaborates with the Unit Directors, ED Supervisors and Senior Leadership on operational issues.

Will participate in placement of ICU patients, and critical patient flow from ED to ICU as well with the support of bed board. It also requires attendance of rapid responses, codes and staffing.


Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience RequiredEducation: Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

Alabama RN License required. BSN preferred. BLS, ACLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period.

Experience: Recent hospital RN experience in which an advanced level of leadership, interpersonal, and problem solving skills has been demonstrated. Previous management experience preferred. Knowledge of overall hospital policies. Must have critical care experience.

Qualifications Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Experience required: Education: High School diploma/GED required. Registered Nurse: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Alabama license. BCLS certification required within 90 days of employment. ACLS certification is required within 12 months of employment. EKG Competency Testing is required within the first 90 days of employment and annually: (Part 1) Visual identification of 6 Lethal Cardiac Rhythms, passing with a score of 100%; (Part 2) Basic EKG Rhythms written examination, passing with a score of 85% or higher. Experience:Cardiac catheterization for diagnostic and interventional procedures, cardiovascular patient care, radiographic special procedures and/or hemodynamic monitoring experience accepted. Additional Skills/Abilities: Ability to adapt to a fast paced dynamic work environment related to changing daily work schedules, working with patients with acute, chronic, and complex cardiac disease and maintains absolute integrity in the accurate performance and reporting of diagnostic procedures.
