The Henri Bendel Support Associate will provide support to all levels of sales staff to maximize efficiency which will allow sales staff to focus on driving sales volume. This role will provide general customer service to ensure a genuine, engaging and entertaining Bendel's customer experience.

Essential Role Responsibilities:

Drives Financial Performance:

  • Ensures that all sizes styles and colors are available on sales floors at all times to maximize sales opportunities.

  • Ensure that floors are neatly merchandised to attract customers and allow for a pleasant and easy shopping experience.

  • Collaborates with colleagues in order to introduce customers to other categories and build sales volume.

Delivers Exceptional Customer Service:

  • Demonstrates a courteous demeanor and knowledge of the store when interacting with customers on the sales floor in a genuine, engaging manner that will differentiate the Bendel's experience as one that is fun and entertaining.

  • Knows where all merchandise is located in order to direct clients upon request.

  • Knows what events are taking place in order to assist customers and sales staff.

  • Understands how efficiency and presentation assists sales staff in driving sales.

  • May help facilitate returns and/or sales.

Maintains the Selling and Stock Areas:

  • Straightens up merchandise in selling area including folding clothes, returning fallen items to hangers, and picking up unsold merchandise and returning it to the selling floor.

  • Regularly cleans out fitting rooms and returns merchandise to selling floor.

  • Keeps cash wrap area neat and orderly.

  • Regularly replenishes selling area, working in partnership with sales staff.

  • Contacts maintenance associates to request clean-up as necessary (e.g. mud or snow tracked onto the floor), and monitors neatness of selling floor to minimize safety risks.

  • Ensures rolling rods, chairs, and other display items are in their proper positions, and notifies Loss Prevention or maintenance associates immediately if any safety risks seem present.

  • Partners with Visual Merchandising to ensure new visual displays are maintained correctly.

Fully Supports All Operating Behaviors:

  • Approaches assignments in a positive and constructive manner.

  • Shows flexibility in work schedule to meet the business needs.

  • Embraces change and supports new business directions.

  • Dresses according to style guidelines and expectations of the Henri Bendel brand.

  • Follows all opening and closing procedures regularly and correctly (e.g. ensures register is ready for transactions as soon as the store opens).

  • Adheres to daily schedule arrives on time, takes scheduled breaks and/or lunches and closes out on time.

  • Rings up sales under appropriate sales staff numbers.

  • Keen awareness of and ability to follow loss prevention and general policies and procedures at all times.

  • Attends product knowledge training sessions.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Stock Associate generates sales and cultivates customer loyalty by ensuring operational processes and standards are executed while ensuring a neat, clean and organized store. Stock Associates are responsible for creating a seamless Brand experience between back of house and the sales floor and are expected to perform a variety of cross-functional tasks as assigned by the Leader on Duty or as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Displays a "customer is the priority" mindset at all times * Consistently treats all Gap customers and employees with respect and contributes to a positive work environment * Accountable to contribute to the achievement of store goals and results * Upholds the commitments to the company's processes, values and Code of Business Conduct * Collaborates with store team to develop innovative solutions to business needs * May flex between customer or support roles as needed by the business * Meets or exceeds Company productivity standards for all operational processes: shipment processing, markdowns, merchandise signage, replenishment and recovery of sales floor and stockroom * Executes Omni-Channel processes to ensure customer needs are met (i.e., SFS, RIS) * Prepares and executes shipment assembly line tasks to company standard; flexes to all areas of the shipment line as needed * Assists in executing merchandise flow and product placement * Identifies and communicates opportunities while replenishing size specific quantities throughout the store in response to sell-through * Performs audit and transfers of damaged and defective merchandise, completes re-tickets and charge sends * Ensures neat, clean and organized areas throughout the stockroom and selling floor; performs all assigned cleaning duties * Ensures unsold and/or returned merchandise is returned to the selling floor within established company standards QUALIFICATIONS: * High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred * Ability to maneuver around sales floor, stock room, work with and around cleaning chemicals, and lift/carry up to 30lbs. * Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holiday, evening, overnight and weekend shifts This job description intends to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
