We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join our team as a Support Counselor.

In this position, you will assist an adult individual with disabilities in learning independent living skills. Your duties will include:

  • Companionship and supervision of your assigned individual at all times
  • Household management
  • Teaching and modeling of independent living skills
  • Teaching and modeling socialization skills, including establishing community connections and relationships
  • Developing and implementing a weekly activity schedule of preferred activities
  • Escort to community-based appointments, events, outings, and volunteer sites
  • Record-keeping using electronic time management software and electronic health record system

Starting pay rate is $12 per hour. $500 1-year sign-on bonus for full-time employees working 32 hours or more per week.

Requirements

Are you the right one for us?

If youre our ideal candidate, youll preferably have post-secondary training/coursework or an Associates Degree. Preferably, you will have prior experience working as a Residential Counselor, Supports Counselor, Job Coach, Employment Specialist, Behavior Aide/Technician, and/or Home Health Aide. Lastly, you will be willing and able to travel to and support clients throughout Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

The interventions delivery may vary to include, but are not limited to: case management, transportation, individual/family therapy sessions, individual and family substance abuse treatment, psychiatric rehabilitation skill building, facilitating IDDT groups, and crisis intervention. Requires at least an Associate's degree, Bachelors preferred, in human services and one year experience and/or training in rehabilitation counseling, case management or supported employment, or high school education and a minimum of 1 year experience and/or training in rehabilitation counseling, case management or supported employment; or equivalent combination of education and experience 2. Past Vocational training or Supported Employment experience preferred 3. An active Maryland Driver's License with not more than two points 4. Maintain active CPR certification 5. Experience with use of Microsoft Office 2000 or later version and be familiar with Windows network environment 6.
