Responsibilities

Responsible for coordinating and accomplishing a variety of office support services including but not limited to the following: procurement of administrative supplies and equipment, tracking budget expenses, personnel processing, printing and mail service, space management, and records and correspondence management.

Provides information to managers and employees on human resource policy and regulatory changes. Initiates and controls a variety of personnel processing activities, e.g., initiating electronic requests for personnel actions, annual performance ratings, local recruitment, and new employee orientation.

Supervises and manages the support organization program, office facility and subordinate employees. Performs the overall work planning for assigned programs, establishes work schedules, sets priorities, assigns and reviews work, approves leave requests, sets performance standards, and evaluates performance

Qualifications

For the GS-05: Three years of progressively responsible experience, one year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level. General experience is experience that involved dealing with others in person-to-person work situations, obtaining and providing a variety of services for an organization, or other work that demonstrated the ability to perform successfully the work of the position to be filled.

OR - Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university.

OR - combinations of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester hours) and experience as described above.

For the GS-06: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level.

Examples of specialized experience include: Assembling monthly expenditures for operating budget reporting; Preparing and reviewing correspondence, ensuring spelling, grammatical, and formatting accuracy; Purchasing, receiving, and distributing supplies and special order items, including reconciling purchases in a database; Coordinating or performing accountable property inventories, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining files and related documentation;

OR one full year (18 semester/27 quarter hours) of successfully completed graduate level coursework that is directly related to the work of the position (such as Business or Public Administration; or other administrative or management fields related to the position being filled);

OR a combination of graduate level education that is directly related to the position and specialized experience that together meets the requirements for this position.

For the GS-07: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06.

Examples include: Collecting and analyzing budgetary information and statistical data for use in the formulation and execution of budget requests and reports; Purchasing or contracting for supplies, equipment, and services; Creating travel orders and vouchers; Composing, typing, and proofreading correspondence, narrative and tabular material (i.e., databases and spreadsheets);

OR one full year (18 semester/27 quarter hours) of successfully completed graduate level coursework that is directly related to the work of the position (such as Business or Public Administration; or other administrative or management fields related to the position being filled);

OR a combination of graduate level education that is directly related to the position and specialized experience that together meets the requirements for this position.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
