Purpose:

Responsible for cleaning all aspects of assigned high risk areas including Labor and Delivery, Emergency Department, and Operating Room including patient rooms, public areas, offices and equipment, to meet Hospital and Department standards in order to promote the quality of care rendered in the environment. Responsible for stocking supplies, patient transport, cleaning and preparing patient areas and maintaining unit supplies.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and assure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, reporting problems to the supervisor.

  • Provide ongoing general assistance to patient and unit staff including delivering mail and flowers, passing linen, nourishment and water according to established procedures.

  • Clean, move and set up equipment, reporting any deficiencies to Facilities Management. Maintain mobile and non-mobile equipment and work area.

  • Obtain blood and blood products from the Blood Bank and return empty containers. Transports specimens to the lab.

  • Escort and assist with transport of patients within and outside the department according to established procedures.

  • Remove trash and linen from assigned areas, transporting hazardous waste according to established safety standards.

  • Make beds, following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms as assigned.

  • Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and soap in all locations of assigned ares to assure adequate supply.

  • Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.

  • Retrieve non-narcotic medications from pharmacy and deliver to designated unit personnel.

  • Responsible for following the mandatory reporting procedures for any incident or serious event that did affect or potentially could have affected the clinical care of any patient.

  • Perform cleaning procedures in patient care areas, public access areas, and staff facilities including floors, furniture, draperies and equipment according to established procedures.

Qualifications

Completion of high school or GED (General Equivalency Degree) program required. Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a high-risk environment. Requires the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete housekeeping duties and the ability to use housekeeping equipment. Interpersonal ability necessary to apply required customer service principles provided through an in-house training program including dealing with patients, responding to patient requests and referring issues to appropriate team member. Basic analytical ability necessary to evaluate multiple tasks and respond according to proper priority. May in the course of their duties be in room where medications are stored or may transport medications when they transport patients. Transportation of medication is limited from one department to another.

The Customer Service Associate - ProServices also pulls and prepares orders ahead of time for quick and efficient pickup by Pro customers. Travel Requirements: This role does not require regular travel; however, this role may need to travel on occasion to meetings, trainings, or to support neighboring stores. What You Need To Succeed Minimum Qualifications * 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information. * 6 months of experience using a handheld device (e.g., mobile phone, LRT gun, palm pilot, tablet, iPod) to enter, access, and output information. * 6 months of sales experience in building and maintenance, building and maintenance supply, construction, trades, or maintenance repair operations (MRO), identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits. * 6 months of building and maintenance, building and maintenance supply, construction, trades, or maintenance repair operations (MRO) experience providing customer service, including identifying and resolving customer issues, assisting customers in locating product, greeting customers, answering phones, building relationships with customers, and thanking customers for their business. Preferred Qualifications * Certification in trade related to department (e.g., kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden). * 1 year of retail experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits. * 1 year of retail experience providing customer service, including identifying and resolving customer issues, assisting customers in locating product, greeting customers, answering phones, building relationships with customers, and thanking customers for their business. * 1 year of retail merchandising experience, including performing Zone Recovery, stocking, down stocking, facing/fronting product, pricing, maintaining signage, and housekeeping. * 1 year of retail experience in related department (e.g., kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden). * 1 year of experience in a customer service position at a home improvement, hardware retailer, or wholesale distributor in related department (e.g., kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden). * 1 year of experience working in any sales floor department at a Lowe's retail store. * 1 year of supervisory experience in any field, including directing, evaluating, and coaching employees.
