The BRIDGE Program offers recovery oriented and strengths-based services to residents of Marin that are 18 years of age or older, who are diagnosed with serious mental illness, may have cooccurring disorders, and require the services of a multi-disciplinary team to promote their path to recovery and wellbeing. Our BRIDGE programs are dedicated to support individuals excel and grow, using evidence-base, trauma-informed and culturally responsive services.

There is currently one (1) full-time, temporary vacancy in Health & Human Services, Behavioral Health & Recovery Services B.R.I.D.G.E. Program. This position is expected to run 6-months which may end eariler based on programmatic needs.

The expected schedule is approximately mid-April to mid-August.

Under the direction of Behavioral Health Unit Supervisor, the Support Service Worker II - Bilingual Assignment is a position on the Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Bon Air Bridge team located at the Marin General Hospital. This position supports the Mental Health Practitioners who assist severely mentally ill clients working towards recovery.

The Support Service Worker collaborates with a multidisciplinary team caring for severely mentally ill clients to become more independent and improve their quality of life. The Support Service Worker II provides outreach to clients at their homes and/or in the community, assistance with accessing resources, transports clients to medical and psychiatric appointments, and participates in case conferences.

The first 25 qualified candidates meeting minimum qualifications will continue to the next step in the recruitment process and have their application materials reviewed.

Our Highly Qualified Candidate:

The ideal candidate has experience working with severely mentally ill clients with diverse backgrounds. The Support Service Worker is a member of a multidisciplinary team, in a fast-paced environment with good interpersonal and communication skills.

The Support Service Worker has excellent organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and identify key resources available to severely mentally ill clients. In addition, the ideal candidate has the ability to build and maintain relationships with severely mentally ill clients, clients' family members, community partners, and government agencies. Our ideal candidate will also have experience with electronic record keeping.

We recognize your time is valuable, so please note that you must have at least the following required Minimum Qualifications in order to be considered for this position:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES

Three years of experience in a health, social service or community organization that demonstrates possession of the stated knowledge and abilities plus successful completion of twelve (12) semester units of education in health science, behavioral science and/or social welfare from a recognized college or equivalent. One additional year of experience may substitute for the educational requirement. College-level education in a field as listed above may be substituted for the experience on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years.

If assigned as a medical assistant in a clinic or public health setting, one year of experience must have included medical assistant duties under the direction of a licensed physician at a level equivalent to the County's class of Support Services Worker I. California licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) may substitute for the medical assistant experience.

If assigned to the CAL/LEAP component of the Employment and Training Program, one year of experience must have included either assisting with the provision of services in a job training or employment setting or in the coaching or training of adults in an academic or social services program.

TESTING AND ELIGIBLE LIST:

Depending on the number of qualified applications received, the examination may consist of a highly qualified review, application screening, online assessment, written examination, oral examination, performance examination, or any combination to determine which candidates' names will be placed on the eligible list.

The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancy and any future vacancies for open, fixed-term, full-time or part-time positions which may occur while the list remains active.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates selected are subject to fingerprinting by the Sheriff's Department and must pass a Department of Justice LiveScan background check prior to appointment.

DISASTER SERVICE WORKERS:

All County of Marin employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109). Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
