Position Summary:

The Manager in Training position is designed to give a growth opportunity to candidates that have culinary skills and the ability and desire to grow with the company. The position reports to an area District Manager. As you begin, you will be assisting in the daily operation of our cafeterias working line positions. You will also be working with our caf managers learning every aspect of our operation from back-of-the-house to front-of-the-house to administrative responsibilities. As you learn our operation, you will also be assigned to cover days off or vacations for our caf managers. We want the result of the Manager in Training position to be that you have learned our operation well enough so that you can be promoted to operate one specific caf location as our Chef Manager. Position requires flexibility as you may be traveling to different caf locations daily; covering a different position each day. Position requires dependable transportation.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work at caf locations as assigned by District Manager

  • Cross Train learn and work line positions including grill cook, deli prep, salad prep, cashier and catering. Work with Chef Managers and learn position responsibilities

  • Cooking creating menus, preparing sauces, soups, entrees, desserts and equipment use

  • Reports learn how we process sales, invoices, petty cash, payroll and other operational reports, account budget

  • Policies & Procedures how we handle money, staffing, staff issues, safety, customer service

  • Purchasing become familiar with ordering system: receiving, transfers, split orders

  • Food Cost portion control, product rotation, menu pricing, leftovers, waste, theft and training employees in these areas

  • Inventory accuracy and consistency, knowing units, understanding categories, organizing, extending

  • Employee/Customer Relations priority, establishing relationship, problems, professionalism, feedback and reviews

  • Catering booking, set-up, billing, profitability

  • Sanitation proper chemical usage, temperature controls, thawing, storage, cleaning

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience coordinating food service operations.

  • Able to travel locally as needed

  • Demonstrated ability to teach others is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to relate well to individuals and groups with widely

  • Varying backgrounds, perspectives, education, and skills is required.

  • Excellent work record, superior communication, cooperation, and organizational skills required.

  • Demonstrated experience in supervising large staff required.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to remain standing for most of working hours.

  • Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds.

  • Must be able to perform respective tasks.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours and days.

  • May be exposed to hot, humid work areas.

  • May be exposed to sharp instruments and power driven equipment.

Identify and report any and all customer quality or compliance concerns immediately to the Business. Dispute Resolution (50%) Support Dispute Leader in all tax and pricing and other disputes. Work with Customer Service,Customers and Sales to investigate and resolve disputes. Respond and resolve tax and credit card related inquiries/issues submitted to the support solutions mailbox. Understand challenges with portal billing customers. Submit invoices and resolve any issues. Work to improve processes and reduce workarounds. Order Management (50%) Order entry and order management to be delivered as required. Pro-active and timely order backlog management. Provide shipment status to ensure revenue collection occurs on time.
