Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Manager of Engineering 2/ F-35 Support Equipment Field Support Representative to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located at Eglin Air Force Base, FL in support of the F-35 Lightning II Program. The selected candidate will perform duties as an F-35 Support Equipment (SE) Field Support Representative (FSR) and manage team of SE FSRs and Repair Verification Radar (RVR) Subject Matter Experts (SME). The RVR team supports the full-spectrum of radar imaging activities across entire F-35 Program. Candidate may also act as the Northrop Grumman technical interface and on-site company representative to the customer in resolving issues arising from operations, maintenance, modifications and other logistics and engineering support activities involving F-35 support equipment.

In this role, selected candidate will be expected to:

  • Manage personnel by tailoring resources based on discipline requirements, program objectives, and company policy

  • Mentor, guide and foster employee development, oversee performance review process, establish employee training criteria and coordinate with IPT managers to ensure skilled talents and tools are provided to support programs

  • Support and manage following activities: hiring and attrition, personnel management, resolution of personnel and performance issues, salary planning, employee rewards and recognition, skill-set training and employee engagement and inclusion initiatives

  • Lead F-35 Support Equipment FSR Team by assisting NGAS & NGDS leadership with task management and mission execution

  • Oversee execution of various Statements of Work (SOW) on the F-35 Program

  • Provide direction to employees, when needed, including assignment of cost, schedule and technical tasks

  • Integrate into a high tempo military operational environment

  • Provide engineering and support equipment maintenance guidance to military and civilian maintainers and depot technicians and engineers with confidence and authority

  • Identify technical issues and recommend solutions to support the F-35 engineering disposition process and technical data updates

  • Manage, track multiple engineering and logistic support activities, and provide periodic status to customers and program management team

  • Work any shift, weekends, overtime and holidays, if necessary, as well as travel on Temporary Duty Assignments (TDY's) to support F-35 program requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) field and 8+ years' experience working on military aircraft support equipm

  • Experience managing or leading a technical team

  • Must have experience with training military maintainers and contractor/DoD technicians

  • Must have an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Field service or prior military experience

  • F-35 support equipment or aircraft experience

  • Experience in the design of mechanical or electrical military aircraft subsystems

  • Experience training others in the use of military aircraft ground support equipment

  • Familiarity with DoD maintenance manuals and military standard maintenance practices

  • Logistics data management

Salary Range: 100320 - 150480

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. CESE includes all-terrain vehicles, tractors, and a single man-lift.</p><p>The Contractor shall: </p><ul> <li>As assigned on the maintenance schedule by the NSEOD Maintenance Officer, maintain and repair equipment in accordance with the respective manufacturer’s service manual, document all maintenance and repairs, and update the maintenance schedule. Performance requires performing diagnostics and troubleshooting, and maintenance and repairs include, but are not limited to overhauling engines, transmissions, axel assemblies, differentials, transaxles, suspensions, fuel injection systems, exhaust and emission control systems, gear reduction systems, steering mechanisms/systems, hydraulic power assist systems, related electrical, electronic, hydraulic, fuel and other vehicle assemblies. </li> <li>Complete maintenance and repairs within an independent or manufacturer's estimate of the time required to complete the work, document the work using a Shop Repair Order (SRO), and archive the SRO in the respective equipment history jacket. </li> <li>Submit purchase order requests to NSEOD Maintenance Department Work Leader for repair parts, tools, materials and supplies required for maintenance and repair tasks (CDRL). </li> <li>Maintain an inventory of frequently used repair parts and expendable/non-expendable bench stock items, and annually, perform a physical inventory of on-hand repair parts and bench stock items and submit the inventory to the Maintenance Department Work Leader. </li> <li>Properly containerize, package, label, and store Contractor controlled or produced HAZMAT in accordance with all regulations and use NSEOD B8856 accumulation site for disposal of all HAZMAT. </li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>Have a minimum of six (6) years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and qualified to maintain and repair the Civil Engineering Support Equipment (CESE). </li> <li>Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. </li> <li>Will be required to follow all Federal COVID-19 protocols as they pertain to contractors</li> </ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>medical, dental, vision, life, STD, LTD, holidays, PTO, 401(k) with company match</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong><i>FirstDiv</i></strong><strong><i> is an equal opportunity employer.
