Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying supply regulations, policies, procedures, techniques and methods to maintain materials and supplies; 2) Maintaining automated supply systems/programs in accordance with procedures; 3) Tracking supply budget and reporting to verify available funding for the procurement of supplies; 4) Practicing the execution of property management procedures and material control. General Description of the Job Class This key role will manage and coordinate strategic activities of the hospital Supply Chain Management functions in a proactive manner. Manages and implements Duke University Health System strategies to optimize staffing efficiency levels. Produce results in achieving efficiencies in supply distribution, linen distribution, inventory management, supply expense analysis, and cost containment as outlined. Ensure product quality levels and vendor service levels are met. Participates as a member of the Supply Chain leadership team and represents the department in management and associate forums. Manage the overall day-to-day operations of Supply Chain Management to promote efficiency and effective patient care. Manage customer communication and supply chain processes to ensure optimal customer service standards are met. Duties and Responsibilities of this Level Demonstrated knowledge of all Supply Chain Associate - Levels 1, 2 and Team Lead job functions and responsibilities at an advanced level while being able to be a mentor/precept to the staff. Manage the day-to-day operations of Supply Chain in designated areas that may include Business Office functions, Centralized Inventory Support, Centralized Shipping and Receiving and Courier functions, Linen replenishment, Records retention, Bed Management/logistics. Work collaboratively with medical staff and supply chain leadership to develop and maintain programs and process designed to ensure compliance of service delivery standards. Review and improve standards on an on- going basis. Serve on intra and interdepartmental committees related to organizational objectives. Seek opportunities to promote the vision, mission, and value of the organization by serving in leadership positions on relations committees. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects safe, honest, ethical, and professional behavior. Conduct inspections of the hospital facilities to assure uninterrupted flow of supplies and other responsible items (e.g. linen) to departments and to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Required Qualifications at this Level Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Healthcare and/or other related field required. Master's degree preferred, but not required. Experience 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or health care leadership/management. 2 of the 5 years must be in supply chain/logistics Experience with supply chain technology solutions (e.g. bar code scanners, automated supply cabinets, and other expandable wireless products). Previous experience in JIT (Just in Time) and LUM (Logical Unit of Measure) distribution processes required. Previous experience in LEAN Six Sigma methodologies preferred, but not required. Must have the ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. In this job the exertional requirements to push/pull the unloaded and loaded supply carts with the duty requiring up to 100 pounds of exertional force daily. Reaching, lifting, stooping, and bending are frequent in daily duties. Possess a sense of urgency and a proactive, customer service philosophy.
