Your Impact

The Supply Planner External Operations is part of a multicultural team and responsible for the supply of finished products manufactured by external suppliers. He/She ensures continuous supply to our warehouse at the right inventory level and costs in order to serve our customers in a timely manner.

The Supply Planner is responsible to mitigate any impacts to customer service due to demand and/or supply constraints.

Here's where you'll demonstrate your competencies:

  • Creates & verifies supply plans of finished products in our planning system

  • Effectively translates demand plans into supply plans

  • Creates & submits Purchase orders to suppliers

  • Validates purchasing forecast and communicates major volume changes to suppliers

  • Monitors open orders and tracks deliveries if needed from suppliers

  • Ensures inventory levels and customer service levels within targets

  • Maintains master data and planning parameters in the ERP & planning system

  • Resolves shipment & inbound issues in collaboration with other relevant functions

  • Identifies root causes & potential customer service impacts

  • Mitigates impact for projected backorder situations and develops corrective/preventive actions

  • Coordinates and communicates proactively the resolution of supply issues to stakeholders

  • Drives continuous improvements of supply chain metrics (service, inventory, cost, etc)

  • Leads the Partner S&OP meetings with external suppliers

  • Supports new products introductions and discontinuations

  • Resolves invoice mismatches to avoid delays in payment

  • Identifies and implements process improvements

  • Creates & maintains standard operating procedures and work instructions

  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level

  • Builds and maintains strong working relationship with internal & external partners

  • Continuously challenges, improves and streamlines the supply chain process to increase efficiency

  • Supports other projects as needed

Our Needs

Here's what we'll need from you:

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS degree (or equivalent) in a related field is required. Additional work experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.

  • 3 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain and/or Operations

  • Experience in planning, purchasing or materials management

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills are required

  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

  • Proactive, independent, self-leadership paired with collaboration and teamwork skills

  • Ability to challenge the status quo and translate complex situations into simple working solutions

  • Good computer skills in MS Office applications

  • Must have a high level of personal initiative and ability to function autonomously with a strong sense of urgency, self-confidence, and comfort with new and rapidly changing situations and environments

  • Manugistics, JDE, or SAP experience is preferred

  • APICS certification is preferred

Join us in our mission! We are seeking a highly effective Senior Site Planner to work in this exciting new area of cancer immunotherapy. This position is located in Oceanside, CA. You will play a key role in ensuring production readiness from a production planning perspective, including facility start up, process tech transfer and validation, routine supply, process changes, and issue resolution. Department Description As the Senior Site Planner, you'll be joining a newly formed team in which people of all backgrounds and experiences are respected, and where working together focused on saving lives, by finding the cure for cancer, is a daily activity. You'll be reporting to the Associate Director Site Planning and Materials Management. Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): * Provide and maintain detailed site scheduling production plans for viral vectors to assure no gaps or delays in processing, release, and shipments * Partner with site Materials and Warehouse team on new materials readiness for the facility and process start-up phase * Be the conduit to ensure an effective close loop communication of the site's production plan is understood by Corporate Supply Chain and the site Operations, Quality and Materials Mgmt teams * Ensure short and long term site capabilities and production capacity commitments are aligned to the business objectives * Coordinate activities required to support the manufacture, packaging, labeling, shipping, and distribution of clinical and commercial materials * Support changes in BOM, demand and supply, perform planning assessment as needed; support raw material inventory and supply control as required * Lead resolution and mitigation plans of materials issues at the site; escalate and coordinate with Global Supply Chain if required * Provide timely updates to stakeholders on status of readiness activities and related projects * Establish or update standard operating procedures (SOP's) as required and process controls to obtain and maintain an efficient and effective department * Partner with all relevant stakeholders, global supply chain, manufacturing, quality, QC, finance * Monitor functional area data quality reports and metrics identifying master data errors and identify revisions to data quality reports, new tools and/or processes to proactively prevent, identify, monitor and correct master data errors to resolution. * Assure compliance with environmental and safety regulations * Other duties as assigned Your Profile * Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related business administration is preferred * 10 years+ of supply experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech or medical company in a planning and supply chain management role preferred * In-depth knowledge of material requirements planning and production scheduling * APICS CPIM certification preferred * Working knowledge and understanding of current Code of the Federal Regulations (CFR's) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's) * Experience with Change Control Management, Deviations and CAPA Systems * Experience with Oracle EBS, SAP or similar is strongly preferred * Excellent skills in MS Word and Excel * Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this reciprocal work environment * High energy level and a positive outlook to achieve personal and organizational goals and overcome obstacles * Thrives in a startup, fast-paced environment with 'can do' attitude under minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities * Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in areas of responsibility * Willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description * Able to work after hours, weekends and on call as needed Kite is a biopharmaceutical company engaged in the development of innovative cancer immunotherapies with a goal of providing rapid, long-term durable response and eliminating the burden of chronic care.
