What's the opportunity?

The Supply Chain Planner will be fully embedded with the customer's in and out bound material planning. This role will be dual in nature, as The Supply Chain Planner will not only understand and execute the current Material Planning processes but will simultaneously transform how the work is done and make it a competitive advantage for the customer. This role will be responsible for developing an ideal state of Supply Chain Planning, which will encompass true end-to-end planning and execution of all aspects of the Supply Chain. Additionally, the Supply Chain Planner will perform gap analysis between current and future state, and root cause/corrective action initiatives to close identified gaps, in order to achieve the ideal state.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop, implement and control the Supply Plan for raw materials sourced from external suppliers considering demand, capacity, and materials availability constraints.

  • Responsible for supply planning activity, including creating and maintaining supplier forecasts and purchase orders to meet demand.

  • Manage stock levels and stock provisions in conjunction with demand planning, suppliers and distribution partners to ensure adequate inventory is available to fulfill customer demand, while minimizing inventory costs.

  • Communicate with both the upstream and downstream functions of the Supply Chain.

  • Contact suppliers, operations representatives, carriers, and factory personnel to investigate issues and improve alignment.

  • Perform root cause corrective action.

  • Work with the team to identify, analyze, and correct the true root cause of any issues that arise.

  • Develop the skills and experience to identify potential problems before they happen.

  • Develop the desired future state and implementation plan for Supply Chain Planning, creating a competitive advantage for the customer.

  • Establish critical inventory parameters taking into account constraints and input, such as lead time and order cycle time.

  • Monitor, track and report inventory levels and reconcile inventory variances using all available resources to identify root causes and possible solutions.

  • Ensure all inventory metrics are met. Identify actions and drive process improvement.

  • Provide visibility to product back orders, short stock, excess and/or slow moving inventory

  • Other duties as assigned

What are we looking for?

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required; relevant work experience in the Supply Chain space will be considered.

Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Supply or Demand Planning

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to organize effectively, multi-task, attention to detail, accuracy, analytical thinking and solution-oriented attitude a must

  • Leadership skills (motivation, communication, team building, setting the example)

  • Critical thinking, problem solving, analytics mentality

  • Desire to "roll up the sleeves", "get dirty", and work hard

  • The ability to influence and drive change

  • Up to 20% travel may be required (domestic and/or international)

The Supply Chain Planner will report to the Senior Operations Manager. This role will have a meaningful impact on Simple Mills’ continued growth with hands-on execution responsibilities, while gaining valuable experience and exposure to supply chain, manufacturing, and overall operational processes. </p><p>The Simple Mills’ Supply Chain team is fast-paced, execution-focused, and incredibly dynamic. No two days are the same, and with mission-critical tasks on our plate, so it is essential that the employee in this role be able to combine speed and accuracy with exceptional analytical skills to help drive improved performance across the supply chain. </p><p>The Supply Chain Planner will be expected to apply creative problem-solving skills and turn data into demand and supply plans that will drive optimal inventory levels, improve customer service levels, and reduce in costs. The ideal candidate will be ambitious and motivated by gaining a broad exposure to all facets of a supply chain organization.
