Supply Manager

SUMMARY

Responsible for the development of key relationships with supply partners to supply material or services which conforms to the supply chain needs of the company. May act as the Supply Chain liaison with Pella corporate initiatives. Works under direct supervision of a Strategic Commodity Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for identification, development and management of key supply relationships that are critical to the success of Pella Corporation's Supply Chain.

Responsible for the identification, development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures which support total customer satisfaction, both internally and externally, where applicable in relation to this position.

Responsible for supporting purchasing of materials, supplies, equipment and services for the company. To accomplish this, deals directly with other departments within Pella Corporation to determine exactly what is needed at the lowest possible cost, consistent with Pella Corporation's quality standards.

Research and interview suppliers to understand their capabilities to supporting the supply manager's commodity strategy. Serve as back up to the Strategic Commodity Manager as needed.

Responsible for keeping abreast of and keeping other departments informed of technological changes involving products, prices, materials, and markets. Facilitates communication between suppliers and the various individuals within the company.

Assists in obtaining proper information regarding specifications, appropriate catalogs, price lists, etc. to be used by other departments in assisting them to obtain the latest information when referencing to products. Responsible for supplier evaluation and sourcing selection for new product introduction.

Manages supply base through the supplier rating system to assure time, cost, and quality goals are met.

Identify and mitigate supplier and commodity/industry risks to support Pella's needs.

Responsible for meeting annual productivity goals by managing projects, in conjunction with cross functional teams, which reduce total material costs. This will include, but not be limited to, price negotiations, product design changes, internal or supplier process changes, packaging designs, and logistics.

Overnight travel to Pella manufacturing plants and suppliers is expected with this position. Travel is estimated 15-20%.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent related experience and/or training. Requires 3 or more years of experience in supply chain roles.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Word, Excel, Power Point, Oracle, and Access.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

CPSM or other supply chain certification desired, but not required
