This is an Executive level position responsible for providing strategic input and tactical execution of all CHS Supply Chain. The COO has responsibility for Field Operations Support, Strategic Sourcing, Clinical Integration and Value Analysis, and Education/Communications and Training.
The Chief Operating Officer collaborates regularly with value analysis, clinical integration, other transactional processing services, and support services. This individual is jointly responsible for managing $2 billion in annualized supply expenses and over $1 billion in capital expenditures, through reviewing and optimizing the current GPO contract portfolio, developing comprehensive clinical and utilization protocols, and developing and executing a product standardization plan for CHS. This position supports the Regional Supply Chain and SVP, Supply Chain and Chief Purchasing Officer in recruiting, directing, managing and evaluating over 100 FTEs.
This individual is responsible for building strategic relationships and ongoing alliances with key hospital and Division(s) C-suite leaders and other stakeholders. Bachelors degree required in related field and masters
degree preferred. 7 to 10 years of operations or finance experience required. Supply Chain Leadership experience in a health care setting is strongly preferred.

This is a great opportunity for an individual who is self-motivated, has strong analytical and computer skills, strong attention to detail and is enthusiastic to work in a customer-centric environment. This position coordinates all processes and functions of load planning and freight movement. Major Responsibilities: * Process customer orders, tender freight to third-party carriers * Update Transportation Management System with current shipment information. * Provide visibility to management and the customer by tracking, process over-sight, researching and troubleshooting operational issues or functions. * Handle rate negotiations with carriers on a spot rate basis * Coordinates with carriers to ensure on-time delivery by tracking trucks for pick-up, estimating times of arrival and delivery, and recovering loads when necessary * Provides load exception investigation and reporting * Weighs alternative financial decisions before taking action * Handle reoccurring analysis and tasks driving continuous cost savings initiatives * Examine current processes and implement or recommend improvements to drive out waste * Proactively manage key performance indicators and execute root cause analysis utilizing TM operating systems * Interact with customers in resolving problems and coordinating implementations * Applies tactical processes daily within the established business rules. * Use discretion and independent judgment to answer customer requests and propose solutions * Work with internal subject matter expert to resolve problems. * Meet customer deadlines and develop metrics dashboards that highlight customer specific analytics * Develop and assist with presenting customer analytics, key trends and solution proposals during customer QBR's * Maps and documents standard operating processes * Multi task other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor/customer Qualifications: Qualifications : * Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management or Five (5) plus years of experience in Transportation/Supply Chain preferred * Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time sensitive situations * Excellent problem solving and analytical skills * Advanced desktop computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook required * Strong customer focus * Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers as well as Penske associates * Ability to work independently with minimum supervision * Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment * Strong organizational skills * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Must be able to learn and regularly operate various computer systems across different platforms * Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete a Penske employment application, submit to a reference verification (to include past employment and education) are required Physical Requirements: * The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
