Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.

Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems is currently seeking an experienced Material Distribution/Handling Support Specialist to assist our Stores/Warehousing team at our Promontory, UT facility.


Role description &

Responsibilities:

Successful candidate will perform a combination of manual and clerical shipping, receiving, excessing and warehousing duties, which will require the use of hand trucks, forklifts and other material handling devices, as well as computers to maintain data. Position requires the following.

Job Duties:

  • Receive stock and issue materials used in manufacturing areas.

  • Utilize a computerized MRP system (Cost Point) to input a variety of material related transactions.

  • Perform inventories, material obsolescence reviews and overhead material planning.

  • Work in shipping, receiving and stores areas.

  • Operate narrow aisle forklifts, pallet jacks and sit-down forklifts or various sizes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of warehouse or retail experience.

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to obtain an Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems forklift license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office

  • Demonstrated ability to work alone and in a team environment

  • Good interpersonal skills with all levels of employees and customers

  • Self-motivated and able to work with supervision

  • Able to solve problems

This role supports and assists activities within multiple disciplines across the Supply Chain process. Provides administrative, tactical and execution support in various aspects of the industry standard supply chain business process areas primarily Supply Chain Purchasing and Supply Chain Sourcing, as well as Supply Chain Business Operations. Basic Qualifications: * High School diploma or GED is required. * Bachelor's degree is preferred. * 4 years of related experience in administrative Supply Chain, purchasing, material management and/or logistic functions. * MRP/ERP experience desirable * Ability to interact with Program Management and Production Management * Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a best-in-class customer service mindset * Strong aptitude for problem solving * Ability to travel up to 10% of the time * Experience using Microsoft products to include Word, Excel, and Outlook Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
