We are seeking a dynamic Supply Chain Supervisor to join our Supply Chain Operations Department at Rush University Medical Center!
This is a Full Time position
80 hours every two weeks, benefit-eligible
Night Shift: 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager, supervises the receiving, processing and delivery of hospital supplies and equipment. This position is responsible for supervising the receiving staff and maintaining the appropriate records to validate the accurate receipt, delivery and payment of all hospital purchases. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Supervise the daily activities of the receiving staff and provide direction on issues such as, priority routing, large deliveries, pick up of returns and re-delivery of misplaced deliveries.
Collaborate with multiple departments campus-wide and multi-levels of management to coordinate deliveries and provide high level of customer service to calls coming into Receiving department.
Supervise work assignments of 3rd-party moving vendors.
Responsible for ensuring the receiving staff follows Rush standards and follows Supply Chain policies and procedures. This includes providing instruction, coaching and disciplinary action when necessary.
Conducts employee performance evaluations and recommends annual merit increases. Coordinates and ensures employees complete required training through LEAP and any other method assigned by management.
Follow up to ensure OR Directs, overnight express, radiation sensitive, and perishables packages are delivered within the same day.
Provide assistance to processing clerks with investigating and determining proper routing for unmarked packages.
Coordinate delivery of larger items. (i.e. refrigerators, Clinical Engineering equipment certifications, and MCE materials deliveries.)
Supervise the use of the AGV system and appropriately respond or report system interruptions.
Follow up and ensure all documents are posted daily in GEAC system, signed and filed accordingly.
Communicates to department manager in timely manner all inter- and intra- department issues related to receiving operations and staff.
Collects data from processors and dock clerks to record daily volume to manager.
Participate in departmental planning and ascertain operational opportunities.
Performs all other related duties as assigned and/or required.
Position Qualifications Include
High school diploma/GED and two years of supply chain, distribution or receiving experience or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience where the required knowledge skills and abilities have been acquired.
Knowledge of computer applications and software programs, including MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word) Internet Applications.
Knowledge of OSHA standards and practices preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of Inventory Control processes.
Must be able to demonstrate ability to lead and mentor a team and its individuals in adopting new job techniques and skills.
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure with strict deadlines to meet changing workload demands and priorities.
Superior organizational skills with attention to detail.
