Metsä Wood is looking for a

SUPPLY CHAIN SPECIALIST

For managing and coordinating the company's supply chain operations in US as a member of Metsä Wood Supply Chain Team.

What to expect in Metsä

As a Supply Chain Specialist you will be responsible for customer service and detailed transport planning, coordination, and operation for your responsible area within the Kerto LVL and plywood business. Developing the ways of working in the customer service and supply chain function is part of your responsibilities. You will be working in close cooperation with our US Team including sales and supply chain.

The role increases Metsä Wood's value to customers by analyzing, developing, proposing and implementing alternative supply chain solutions and identify best cost-effective procedures of supply chain.

You can be located in Norwalk, CT or home office close to Baltimore.

Your key responsibilities are to:

• Provide customer service to assigned customers and develop and maintain a good relationship with them

• Handle and follow-up customer inquiry to delivery including all related tasks, transactions and documentation

• Enter customer warehouse and mill direct orders to SAP

• Schedule and coordinate logistics on warehouse and mill direct orders and manage required documentation

• Process documents on incoming orders from Finland

• Maintain customer and SKU level Masterdata in SAP

• Maintain customer prices in SAP

• Support sales in determining lead times and distribution cost to serve new and existing business

• Monitor inventory and keep the age, level and rotation of SKU's within agreed limits

• Monitor information of complaints, trials, delays, etc. plus other relevant matters that may have an effect on the business and relationship with assigned customers/accounts

• Develop the current ways of working, and actively participate in ongoing and upcoming development projects within the Metsä Wood business

• Work according to the function and team targets, policies and procedures

What we expect from you

It is a prerequisite to have proven experience in supply chain related positions. A master or bachelor degree in business, operations management, supply chain management or related field is considered an asset.

This job will require:

• Strong overall business, sales and supply chain understanding

• Proactive customer service and team-oriented attitude

• Ability work as an independent problem solver, accurately and efficiently

• Ability to understand and follow defined work-flow processes

• Ability to analyze and propose/set actions

• Strong document administration and organization skills

• Working in an international environment with cross-functional teams

• Stress resistance and ability to balance multiple priorities

• Good administrational and organizational skills

• Willingness to travel 2-4 days per month

• Fluent (written and spoken) in English. Other languages are considered as an advantage.

Hands-on experience of relevant SAP and MS Office tools is considered as an advantage.
