Codexis, a biotechnology company based in Redwood City, CA, is looking to hire a Supply Chain Senior Systems Engineer.

Codexis is a leading enzyme engineering company leveraging its proprietary CodeEvolver technology platform to discover, develop and enhance novel, high-performance enzymes and other classes of proteins. Codexis enzymes solve for real-world challenges associated with small molecule pharmaceuticals manufacturing and nucleic acid synthesis. The Company is currently developing its proprietary ECO Synthesis platform to enable the scaled manufacture of RNAi therapeutics through an enzymatic route. Codexis enzymes can drive improvements, such as higher yields, reduced energy usage and waste generation, improve efficiency in manufacturing and greater sensitivity in genomic and diagnostic applications.

About the Opportunity:

The Supply Chain Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for

the support and optimization of our supply chain operations to ensure efficiency, robustness and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will be hands-on; blending technical expertise, analytical skills, and a proactive problem-solving approach to drive continuous improvement in the group. This position reports to the Director of Supply Chain. The position will be based in Redwood City, CA.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Evaluate and optimize the supply chain process end-to-end (order management to delivery of goods) to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, assess and mitigate risk and improve overall performance.

  • Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to extract insights from supply chain data and provide reports and recommendations to senior management.

  • Effectively build consensus on proposed improvements and lead implementation including proper documentation and training.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align supply chain activities with overall business objectives and priorities. and build consensus on proposed supply chain activities.

  • Mentor team members and engage in day-to-day operations focusing on rapid issue resolution and improvements - may include performing daily activities of various roles.

  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance across team functions.

  • Ensuring compliance with company Quality System, industry standards and safety regulations.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 6 Sigma and/or Kaizen experience a plus.

  • 10 + years' experience in supply chain roles with increasing levels of responsibility in the life science/biotech industry.

  • Proven track record of business systems improvement leadership.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools with in-depth knowledge of supply chain analytics and KPI measurement, best practices and industry standards.

  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and Quality Systems is required (ISO/GMP preferred).

  • Detailed experience with production planning, logistics, inventory management and contract manufacturing processes.

Additional experience that would be valuable for this role includes:

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and build consensus to effect changes.

CODEXIS PAY TRANSPARENCY: The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Redwood City is $138,500 to $162,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Codexis is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
