Job Title: Safety & Training Manager
Reports to: Vice President of Supply Chain
Pay Class: Full-Time Pay Type: Salary (Exempt)
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Establish safety and training initiatives to optimize performance, employee engagement, and professional development for associates and leaders.
Lead and execute all training functions within the Distribution Center including New Hire Orientation, Job Function Training, and continuous development.
Identify innovative ways to grow and maintain a strong safety culture and establish and revamp employee safety training programs as necessary.
Analyze accident information, identify trends and key problem areas, and communicate to site leadership.
Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices and respond and aid in all emergency situations.
Conduct inspections of facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure regulatory compliance.
Partner with Site Leadership, HR, and Safety Committee to develop action plans to reduce workplace injuries and incidents and promote employee engagement in health and safety programs.
Partner with Operations, HR, and Safety Committee to ensure all new hires receive safety orientation and manage annual training requirements for existing employees
Job Specifications and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
3+ years' experience managing safety and training programs
Demonstrated knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements that govern worker health and safety; physical assessment and ergonomic skills; case management skills.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate training and work in a team environment and achieve results.
Proven ability as a passionate people-centric leader who can effectively drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working with a WMS (warehouse management system)
Able to hit the ground running; a confident, entrepreneurial self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize projects to delegate tasks appropriately.
Analytical ability necessary to gather and interpret data to further develop, recommend and implement solutions.
Possess excellent communication skills; verbal, written and interpersonal.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season.
