Amazon's Packaging Team is looking for a highly motivated Supply Chain Program Manager to help drive this team to the next level. The Supply Chain Program Manager will be responsible for successful delivery of insights enabling the Packaging Team visibility and efficient use of data to drive breakthrough performance in cost savings and supplier performance. In this role you will create, build, manage and own the team's tools and processes enabling performance monitoring and reporting (e.g. requirements, delivery dates, cost, quality, maintenance, etc.), optimized equipment business allocation, should-cost analyses, make-or-buy decisions, and the communication of all vital information to customers and stakeholders. Responsibilities include collection of business requirements from internal and external customers, writing specifications, driving development schedules from design to release, and managing the successful launch. You will interact with multiple internal teams across Amazon and external teams across the Amazon's suppliers. You will be expected to make appropriate trade-offs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams. You will develop insights into Amazon's and supplier's systems, processes, and critical data elements to ensure the packaging team reaches its strategic goals.

The ideal candidate will be an exceptionally strong analytical thinker who can demonstrate teamwork, relationship building and ability to influence others. S/he will thrive in fast paced dynamic environments and have very strong communication and presentation skills. Our environment is very fast-paced, and requires someone who is flexible, detail-oriented, passionate about the customer and comfortable working with numerous stakeholders across the organization and worldwide in an environment that has a considerable amount of ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end creation and ownership of tools and processes, including business reviews and metrics-related programs; goal setting, tracking and reporting; MBR and QBR reporting.

  • Define analytical approach and metrics strategy for the packaging team

  • Work with suppliers' program management to build and deliver consolidated analytics capabilities

  • Translate packaging team business goals into measurable performance KPIs

  • Build new business intelligence mechanism and utilize existing tools to report on performance KPIs

  • Key focus on program management activities including planning, sourcing, risk management, reporting, and cost reduction

  • Establish relationships with customers and stakeholders to allow better project tracking at the customer level

  • Engage with the external technical and business community

  • Bachelor's degree within Engineering, Business, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience as a project/program manager

  • 5+ years of experience analyzing cost/benefit of proposed projects

  • 3+ years of experience in procurement and/or purchasing

  • 3+ years of experience in Microsoft Excel

  • MBA or advanced degree within Engineering, Business, or related fields.

  • Experience supporting launch of new sites.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently solve ambiguous problems.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills - ability to interface with all levels of the organization, specific strength in influencing decision makers.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation.

  • Advanced data analysis skills; the ability to extract and synthesize data in order to make data-backed business decisions

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: * Establish category sourcing strategies, lead cross-functional strategic sourcing teams, negotiate with suppliers and execute contracts to optimize Amazon's competitive position * Drive appropriate relationships with category suppliers, with a principal objective of achieving the optimal solution and cost of ownership that meets the business' goals supported by a culture of continuous improvement with performance benchmarks in use * Manage category suppliers to proactively identify, monitor and optimize opportunities * Act as a market intelligence provider regarding categories; anticipate strategic opportunities and keep key stakeholders informed * Drive category suppliers in Supplier Relationship Management activities to mitigate risk, improve performance and add value to Amazon * Identify, achieve and report on savings and value targets for category sourcing activities * Align with internal customers and understand the business application of the category * Negotiation and implementation of supplier agreements/contracts by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions. * Helping to develop long-term department strategies and significantly influencing the cross-company project development and delivery processes and standards. * Keys to success in this role include sound judgement and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
