The Supply Chain Manager works to achieve and maintain the best possible procurement position with Cameron and to promote the furtherance of the continued improvement process both within Cameron and the vendor community.
This position will be responsible for the management and continuous improvement of the order fulfillment and materials flow processes from order entry through shipment. This position will direct the activities of purchasing, planning/scheduling, inventory, storage and control, receiving and shipping.
Manages the sourcing, costing, and procurement functions for suppliers to ensure the ability to effectively compete in the marketplace.
Develops supplier sourcing strategies and metrics (scorecards) for all Drilling Systems products
Develops supplier performance and initiates corrective actions where necessary
Researches current market trends in order to maintain a world class procurement environment
Conducts ad-hoc analysis as requested by upper management and corporate supply chain leadership
Effectively manage and mentor the Purchasing Team and ensure that they meet Team objectives whilst being developed to maximize their potential. Some specific areas include conducting appraisals and general performance management and identifying training and development needs.
Implement initiatives to improve efficiency and sustain " KPIs
Measure, manage and improve the vendor delivery performance
Implement GR/IR strategies to promote on-time payment to suppliers
Buyer metrics for OTD, Past Due Purchase Orders, Commodity OTD to the plant
Direct procurement policy and strategy
Manage purchase variances in order to protect profit position
Review systems and procedures to a certain appropriateness and effectiveness
Develop purchasing strategy
Can commit the company to purchasing contracts, with secondary approval from the Plant Manager
Can recommend the removal of vendors from the approved vendor list
Monthly reports on purchase commitments, price variances, delivery performance
Lead the team in identifying and negotiate new sources of supply
To support the Purchasing group pursuing Cameron sourcing strategy, aimed at identifying competent, commercially and technically viable vendors, best suited to individual project needs.
Manage the Purchasing teams to ensure all items listed on the Project Procurement Plans are purchased and delivered within budget and delivered within required timescales.
To receive and understand technical requirements from the Project Management & Engineering groups and to convert given information into enquiry/tender documents.
To co-ordinate the entire procurement process on behalf of the Plant requirements from prequalification to purchase order award.
To supervise and oversee the everyday activities of other purchasing personnel.
