  • Serve as an operational consultant to General Manager

  • Partner with site operations and provide assessments of operations for improvement opportunities related to safety, service, productivity, cost reduction, and/or process simplification.

  • Effectively use tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Root cause analysis, 5S, Total Quality Management, Etc.

  • Spend a large amount of time on the floor during all operational hours with a deep understanding of each area.

  • Define standard operating procedures and ensure adherence to documents and procedures.

  • Define and share best practices between sites.

  • Develop and apply labor standards.

  • Update time standards as conditions change and new processes/hardware are implemented.

  • Provide assistance on projects where labor calculations are required for impact evaluations.

  • Own and administer Labor Management.

  • Assist in the implementation of new processes, software applications, and/or hardware.

  • Work with reporting and analysis and site production planners on productivity reporting.

  • Assist with budgeting and resource planning


  • A BS degree in Industrial Engineering or Operations Research or related disciple is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Maynard Operational Sequence Technique (MOST) Certified

  • Travel may be required

  • 2-3 years of experience in a related field and successful demonstration of the responsibilities and skill set listed above.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of ensuring timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service to our wide array of existing customers in the market. The candidate should be enthusiastic and passionate about customer interaction as well as possess the ability to coordinate with other departments in the branch to respond timely and effectively to growing customer needs. * Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow meeting customer expectations * Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operational system, per Operational Performance Standards (OPS) * Track and Trace Shipment Files daily * Scan and validate documents * Ensure documents are received and processed timely to keep cargo moving * Ensure accurate and timely client and vendor billing, within Expeditors and customer requirements * Interact with our customers in arranging their domestic or international shipments, meeting customer service standards and performance measurements * Communicate with service providers regularly to ensure timely pickup and delivery of shipments * Understand departmental process flows, and contribute to best practice opportunities to improve operational efficiency and productivity * Ensure all customers standard operating procedures in place and updated in the DLSOPs. Review and update regularly * Meet KPI standards in accordance with the Company's procedures * Timely responses to emails and voicemails to exceed customer expectations and satisfaction * Escalation of problems to Management when necessary * Minimum High School diploma required. Bachelors Degree preferred. * 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience * Understanding of logistics and supply chain related topics and trends * Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results * Pro-active, strong organizational skills * Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word) * Hazardous Materials certification (preferred but not required) * Fluent in English * Excellent communication and problem solving skills * Ability to work well and excel in a fast-paced environment Personal Development * Expeditors has a strong culture of promoting from within.
