Supply Chain Planning Intern

The Corporate Internship at Niagara is unique in that interns work directly on high impact projects within one of our corporate departments. Interns will work in a fast-paced, innovative environment where they will be asked to be a key part of our operations. During this 10-week internship, participants are encouraged to think outside the box and use a continuous improvement mindset to approach projects and come up with solutions. Interns will gain hands on experience in work related to their field of study.

Interns will work in one of the following departments:

  • IT (Infrastructure, Applications, and Help Desk)

  • Supply Chain

  • Sourcing/Procurement

  • Finance/Accounting

  • Marketing

  • Business Development

  • Corporate Manufacturing

  • Engineering Services

  • Packaging
  • R&D

  • Human Resources

  • Product Lifecycle Management

  • PLM

Detailed Description

  • Work cross-functionally to complete high impact projects

  • Learn about the manufacturing industry and order to cash process

  • Assist with research on new and existing projects

  • Gain exposure to newest technology and software

  • Receive intellectual and creative opportunities to tackle a problem and develop your own proposed solution

  • Support major decision making

  • Attend department meetings and action plan based on feedback

  • Learn to collaborate and communicate across all levels of the organization

  • Create a presentation on your internship experience, projects, and outcomes and present to department leadership

Education

  • Minimum Required: Rising Senior pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/ Logistics/ Industrial Engineering/ Engineering Management/ Business Administration

  • Preferred: Rising Senior pursuing Master's Degree in Supply Chain/ Logistics/ Industrial Engineering/ Engineering Management/ Business Administration

  • Note: If you are a rising Sophomore or Junior, you are eligible for our "Student Associate" positions

Supply Chain Manager Your job * As a Member of M2 Management team, Supply Chain Manager is expected to fulfill following responsibilities. * Manage and lead the Planning, Logistics, Purchasing and SAP support teams to ensure that Zeiss manufactures the highest quality intraocular lenses, to high productivity, accuracy and high morale. * Train team to read, understand and carry out Standard Operating Procedures without error. * Audit SOPs. Document re-training as needed check for understanding and follow up to ensure SOP's are being delivered. When they are not, take immediate, appropriate, corrective action up to and including discipline. * Manages and oversees overall supply chain operations (Planning, Logistics, Purchasing and SAP support). Makes recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate representatives. * Coordinates and resolves issues regarding existing and new products. Interacts with internal stakeholders and with customers to ensure that all requirements are being met. * Confers with local Management and with central Zeiss Demand Management Team to create and execute supply plans that ensure availability of materials and products at any time. * And other duties assigned... Our requirements * Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. * 3-5 year of experience in Supply Chain Management preferably in Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry. Preferred experience in international company with multiple sites. * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret governmental regulations, general scientific and technical journals, business and financial reports, and legal documents. Able to present information professionally and respond to inquiries from governmental authorities, clients, customers, and the general public as required. * Appropriate vocabulary and English writing skills.
