Role Definition
This position is responsible for planning and tracking of new content material for all New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) programs. This role is highly collaborative across many internal teams as well as external suppliers. Excellent communication skills, planning skills, and a high level of accountability are required to be successful in this role.
Responsibilities
Works with NPI/CPI teams to identify, plan, and track new material for active NPI/CPI programs
Identifies and leads initiatives to improve supply chain performance for part delivery timing to ensure pre-pilot and pilot builds are completed per the project plan
Coordinates with multiple internal teams including but not limited to Design Engineering, Product Change Control, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Project Leads, KK Manufacturing, Transportation, other Caterpillar Facilities, Scheduling, etc.
Serves as main point of contact for external supply base on Supply Chain Response Time and ensures supplier is seeing demand and able to process the material
Develops, communicates, implements contingency plans as needed
Accountable for maintaining supply chain application systems
Serves as Supply Chain SME for part procurement
Advises, trains, leads less experienced team members as required.
Must work well with a very diverse team
Experience in legacy screens highly desired, SAP screens would be a plus
Degree Requirement
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience desired

Ensures capture of lessons to be learned from a problem-solving effort
Organizes potential problem solvers and leads problem resolution efforts related to procurement
Uses varying problem-solving approaches and techniques as appropriate
Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives. Level Extensive Experience:
Utilizes preferred tools, techniques and methods for estimating project cost and time
Identifies risks and vulnerabilities; creates contingency plans
Maintains open communication among project participants and interested parties
Procurement: Knowledge of buying and procurement; ability to work with organizational strategies and practices, and use tools for buying goods, supplies, equipment and services needed to conduct business. Level Extensive Experience:
Monitors effectiveness of procurement plan with suppliers
Ensures timely creation of Purchase Orders to be issued by purchasing
Assists in creating contingency plans for and with critical suppliers
Monitors receipt of material and storage locations
