Supply Chain Planner

Four Most Important Tasks

• Enter customer orders and communicate potential delays and challenges to customer

• Plan purchasing of raw materials to meet customer needs

• Analyze sales and purchasing trends to optimize inventory levels

• Support planning for new product launches

Note: This position is primarily dealing with recurring industrial customers.

Your Responsibilities

• Receive customer orders, review for validity, and enter into SAP

• Check stock status to determine if orders can be shipped from stock or if additional material should be ordered from designated vendors

• Plan purchasing with vendors to meet customer requirements

• Organize shipping/logistics to minimize freight costs

• Work with shipping personnel to assure that priority items are shipped promptly

• Analyze customer demand and supplier delivery patterns for opportunities for improvement

• Prepare and enter quarterly demand forecast

• Route new Customer Drawings through the Quality department

• Review Customer Specific Requirements

• Process customer debits and credits for returns or pricing issues

• Coordinate the return of rejected material to vendors

• Assist Key Account Managers with sample requests, pricing information and other customer needs and advise of any change in delivery dates.

• Assume responsibilities of other Customer Service positions, as needed, due to illness and vacation period

• Perform internal auditing of other business function within the site

• Perform other duties or projects as assigned

Experience and Skills for Success

• Minimum 3 years in a planning role

• Project and logistics planning

• Prior experience using SAP

• Proficient in Excel

• Customer and supplier interaction experience
