Summary

In this role, you ensure the delivery reliability along the total Supply Chain for the plant's article portfolio.

In collaboration with internal and external partners you are responsible for the continuous optimization of market demand confirmation under consideration of the plant capacities. Together with the team, Supply Chain support systems and Production you contribute to a successful production planning and monitoring. Further you plan and support the execution of the transportation of the finished product in alignment with Warehousing and the Market Organizations.

Additionally you will support the introduction of deliveries to OEM customers in the near future and serve as their operational plant contact.

Core Responsibilities

  • Agree on production optimization needs due to demand changes or production deviations

  • Responsible for all inventories for her/his articles along the total supply chain

  • Proactively inform market organizations in case of delivery deviations (unplanned shortage)

  • Coordinate the optimization of transports with the transportation planners

  • Strive for optimal quality, costs and customer satisfaction

Basic Qualifications

  • SAP or comparable ERP experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related applicable discipline

  • 3 years' experience in supply planning, logistics or related industry

  • Strong communication skills with international experience

  • Strong distinct planning and organization skills

  • Team player and service oriented

  • Proficiency in MS Office specifically Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years' experience in supply planning, logistics or related industry

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain or logistics preferred

  • Warehouse operational knowledge

  • APICS certification

  • Experience supporting/communicating with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM)

Qualifications

Responsible for technical resource(s) for maintenance of master data and improvement of business processes. Responsible for coordinating the PAS WW demand for cannula. Responsible for providing supply chain, warehouse, and sterilization support and direction to a greenfield Operations installation in Mebane, NC. Reports directly to the Plant Manager of the Sumter BD Preanalytical Systems manufacturing facility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Coordinates activities and supervises all personnel assigned to the Materials Control Department. Has direct supervision of Purchasing, Production Control, Warehouse, Sterilization and SAP/APRISO System. * Understands production control systems and functions to setup and maintain schedules and to record and report all associated activities. * Responsible for the purchasing of all raw materials, component parts, MRO materials and capital equipment required to meet production schedules and to support plant operations. Oversees the issuing of purchase orders and change notices as required for materials and components and the establishing of proper lead times to obtain adequate supplies to meet manufacturing production schedules. * Develops and implements procedures, practices, work flows, and the sequence of operations to obtain maximum efficiency and accuracy in the performance of all duties. * Coordinates with PIC to ensure that the plant is meeting production requirements in order for PAS goals to be met. * Reviews master production schedules driven from the SCM (Supply Chain Management) system and managed by the plant Production Control group to ensure requirements are in line with stated capacities and that finished goods inventory levels are managed to meet expected customer service requirements. Ensures validity of demands and makes recommendations for schedule changes that optimize equipment, personnel, materials and time. * Reviews master production schedules for the Rubber and Injection Molding departments to ensure that both in-house and PAS requirements are supported. * Responsible for accuracy and issuance of reports to Accounting and Management that provide data for budgets (long term planning), financial forecasts , status of production, inventories, backorders and product shipments. * Coordinates with Quality Assurance Manager for the timely disposition of nonconforming material. * Oversees / recommends the in depth search for new suppliers pertaining to improved materials in both quality improvement and cost reduction programs. (If materials are OCP (One Company Procurement) managed, works in conjunction with OCP to identify suppliers that meet these goals.) * Responsible for the management of raw material and WIP inventories to optimize production while minimizing investment. * Utilizes established principles to revise, modify, initiate, and maintain all Materials Control documentation as required to ensure that the efficient and underlying operation of the department will meet ISO/QSR/SOX requirements. * Responsible for the development of quantitative and qualitative goals and strategies and the attainment of these goals for the Materials Control Department. * Responsible for the Materials Control Department exempt personnel, including employee counseling, training, and development. * Responsible for the Senior Systems Analyst which provides technical resource(s) for maintenance of master data, improvement of business processes and strives for excellence in execution. * Responsible for coordinating the PAS World Wide demand for cannula and working with BD Medical Segment to ensure that capacities are in place to meet out year PAS demand.
