Our Memphis Corporate Division is currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager to join our corporate Supply Chain Team providing services to West Fraser's operations across North America.

What you will do:

  • Working within the Corporate Supply Chain Team, you will be responsible for managing relationships with strategic vendors in categories such as MRO (maintenance, repair and operations) and production materials.

  • Work closely with vendors, our operations and the rest of the Supply Chain Team to look for opportunities to consolidate spend, align vendor support with operational requirements, negotiate contracts and communicate the details of such agreements with operations. This position will serve as a single point of contact for certain MRO and production material vendors.

  • Drive inventory optimization initiatives through the identification of opportunities for vendor managed inventory, consignment and committed inventory programs.

  • Negotiate pricing and programs to ensure West Fraser obtains the best overall value and quality for parts, services and equipment.

  • Develop and improve supplier relationships and performance between operations and vendors through relationships and the establishment of operating rhythms, contractual negotiations and performance reviews.

  • Identify improvement opportunities of West Fraser's policies and facilitate necessary edits and management of change initiatives.

  • Provide guidance and training to our operations on the agreements to ensure compliance with corporate policies and controls.

  • Mitigate supply chain lead-time related risks: Proactively work with key vendors and OEMs to keep abreast of lead-time changes. Update and inform the organization of possible increases in lead-time changes before PO issuance to ensure POs are issued and supplies are ordered at appropriate times.

  • Coordinate a regular cadence for communication and meetings with key vendors, ensuring continuous communication and that performance and obligations are not missed.

  • Drive savings opportunity identification and achieve year-over-year savings through negotiations and supply chain initiatives.

  • Lead and implement continuous improvement opportunities with vendors and our operations.

  • Support the creation of, training on and promotion of departmental internal control policies.

  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Skills and education you should have:

  • The preferred candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, Forestry, Business, Engineering or another relevant area, and 5 or more years of experience in a supply chain or procurement role, an operational role or sourcing in an manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to work across many departments to resolve issues and build systems and processes.

  • Experience implementing cost saving initiatives, negotiating and implementation of initiatives.

  • Ability to lead through influence.

  • Ability to gather, consolidate, and analyze large amounts of data.

  • Ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization.

  • Successful implementation of programs through management of change across multiple sites with differing interests.

  • Understanding of forestry manufacturing facilities.
