What You Will Be Doing

  • Work directly with Demand Planning team on forecast concerns and question to improve supply targets based on market demand changes and trends

  • Work directly with Contract Manufacturing and Suppliers to ensure supply targets are maintained

  • Actively participate with Contract Manufacturing, NPI and Project Managers towards new product development and transition

  • Proactively facilitate and recommended re-engineering, best practices & consensus between functional areas (Supply Chain, Sales/Marketing, Operations, Finance and IT).

  • Strong understanding of Supply planning, forecasting techniques, and operational systems

  • Supports operations with supply chain related issues and communicates changes in advance

  • Works with the IT Department in researching NetSuite MRP, Planning Tool issues

  • Review, develop, and update process documentation to reflect new and changed processes

  • Manage performance expectations with Contract Manufacturing, suppliers

  • Lead daily operations meeting with Contract Manufacturing to coordinate supply chain execution activities

  • Develop Contract Manufacturing, Supplier relationships and help resolve any issues on a global level

  • Good knowledge of Sales Orders, Purchase Orders Process

  • Proactively resolves issues to help drive long term resolution for various Operational inefficiencies within the Supply Chain

  • Supply Chain Planning Tool Super User

What You Bring To The Team

  • A good team player to bring change to the complex organization

  • Experience with Contract Manufacturing planning, experiences with supply chain functionality and good understanding of Demand Supply for fast pace enterprise storage product line

  • Strong Analytical capability in identifying demand & Supply trends, seasonality impact and promotional impact

  • Good knowledge with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and good experience using ERP, Planning tools

  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within all levels of the organization

  • BA/BS Degree or its equivalent in relevant area Supply Chain/Manufacturing Operations, Business, Economics, Engineering, etc

  • Must be willing and able to work in an open office, team environment.

This position supports tactical activities in a Material Planner role for a Manufacturing R&D environment. In this role you will place a high volume of orders for various types of manufacturing materials and provide high level of Customer Service for internal customers. Follow up on open purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery and communicate with internal customers including tracking and scheduling of deliveries to various remote locations. Top 3 Daily Responsibilities: 1. Analyze manufacturing build plan against inventory and supply chain data to determine demand for material replenishment 2. Obtain quotes from suppliers and request purchase orders from buyers 3. Manage delivery schedules to ensure materials arrive ahead of requirement date Overall Responsibilities: * Own the Clear To Build for internal and external manufacturing of complex modules * Collaborate with buyers to review invoices, tracking numbers, purchasing logs, and order history * Develops and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure demand for materials is met * Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy * Understand and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedule * Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production Required Qualifications: * BA degree in Business Administration, Management and/or related discipline * 3 years experience in Material Planning for automotive, semiconductor, or consumer devices * Strong knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system functionality * General end-to-end knowledge of supply chain, manufacturing, and warehouse operations * Advanced spreadsheet / Excel skills; Ability to generate complex dashboards, tools, and reports * Self motivated with attention to detail and desire to improve existing processes and work in an autonomous environment * Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting data to senior management CDI Corporation Mountain View CA
