We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Global Supply Manager to drive category management for Specialized Services across Tesla manufacturing, service, warehousing, and R&D teams. The scope covers all services supporting operations including but not limited to, Industrial Services (repair/maintenance, rework, facilities services), HR/Recruiting, EHS, and Engineering Services.
This role will report to our Supply Chain Group Manager and in parallel be an active sourcing resource supporting our various groups within Tesla. The Global Supply Manager builds and leverages strong working relationships with our teams and key suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. They work toward good supplier relationships and total costs of ownership to achieve maximum advantage for Tesla and our customers. Tesla is a fast moving, dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are key attributes needed for success. The successful candidate will be a self-starter; motivated with expert overall sourcing expertise.
Develop sourcing and negotiations/contracting strategies that deliver against commodity business objectives
Analyze current state and spend, purchasing trends, evaluate current supply base, negotiate pricing & commercial terms and manage POs where necessary
Own RFIs, RFPs & RFQ's to ensure all commercial terms are agreed and documented as we as ensuring Non-Disclosure Agreements, Master Service Agreements, and other related contracts are negotiated and appropriately before business is initiated
Support organizational cost management objectives by identifying and driving commercial cost reduction opportunities
Address all areas of category management including category business plans, market conditions, technology roadmaps, cost modeling, insource versus outsource analysis, and sourcing strategies
Monitor global industry trends, track commodity roadmaps, and actively partner with Tesla teams and suppliers identify/mitigate supply and demand challenges
Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams and influence timely decisions with key stakeholders to support category business plans and supplier strategy
Degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience
At least 4+ years of experience in Procurement (preferably for Services), or Supply Chain/Operations Consulting
Good understanding of contract fundamentals and negotiations
Experience developing "should-cost" estimates and analyzing supplier quotes
Excellent Excel and other MS Office skills required; Experience with ERP or MRP purchasing systems is a plus
Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects cross functionally, in a fast-paced environment
