POSITION PURPOSE: Develops, implements, and monitors all logistics management activities required for the timely and efficient transportation and distribution of products.


  • Develops solutions that leverage the Company' s volumes, systems and partnerships while providing consistently high levels of customer service in a cost-effective manner.

  • Identifies and prioritizes logistics needs and communicates recommendations to upper management in order to achieve efficient product distribution.

  • Provides data and recommendations on product tracking, route analysis, rerouting, costing and usage alternatives.

  • Advises IS and system users in the development and implementation of logistics systems improvements and changes.

  • Responds to Requests for Information (RFI) from potential software vendors.

  • Tests vendor software packages to identify potential shortcomings; ascertains vendors' ability to customize products to Home Depot specifications.


Reports to Sr. Manager, Director Sr. Director or VP

Typically requires interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive or controversial situations.

Typically faces situations that are unstructured and require original approaches.

Typically considers new courses of action within broad policies and medium-term goals when solving problems.

Typically, once given general assignments, determines priorities and defines what should be done and how to do it.


Environment: Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Under regular pressure to meet deadlines, quotas and/or must frequently deal with difficult issues related to people or situations.


Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years

Physical Requirements:
Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: Excellent project management skills. Demonstrated abilty to perform financial analysis. Ability to ascertain and solve problems. Strong computer skills.

VIEW JOBS 11/9/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-07T00:00 Summary: The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for gathering data and conducting analysis, with the goal of improving the organization's inventory management effectiveness, Days on Hand performance, and overall profitability, through strong collaboration with suppliers and RNDC leadership. This position will develop and oversee execution of strategies and processes through purchasing and inventory management solutions, including scorecards, KPI's and appropriate metrics to meet and exceed the company's objectives by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned: * Support on going reporting and identification of opportunities working with RNDC markets, suppliers, and Exec leadership. * Partner with Sales and Operations to improve inventory levels and reduce working capital. * Develop and capture industry best practices, as well as best practices from related industries and companies. * Analyze, interpret, and disseminate inventory data, scorecards, and service level KPI's to key stakeholders, including corporate management, in support of the sales and operations planning process. * Identify over-stocked and slow moving brands, and work with markets to reconcile and develop plans to reduce obsolete and aged inventory throughout the RNDC network. * Build and update analytical tools necessary for measurement and goal achievement. * Serve as point of contact for key suppliers for review of special buys, and tracking against contractual obligations. * Analyze requested buys outside of normal needs, then collaborate with Executive * Management for guidance and execution. * Communicate regularly with markets on inventory issues, opportunities, and performance against targets. * Analyze movement of goods through the supply pipeline, identifying gaps, and developing * process improvements to reduce or eliminate those gaps. * Develop and execute analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance the supply chain process. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from suppliers, internal stakeholders, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and full mastery of Excel. Must also be experienced with inventory and order processing systems. Other Requirements: * Ability to regularly travel throughout the state and markets outside of the state. * Travel – 20% across the RNDC footprint. * Demonstrated ability to influence others as well as a strong track record of effective influencing and collaboration. * Understanding of supply chain and its impact on company financials. * Analytical understanding of the value and impact of information (managing and reporting data effectively). * Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
