Hexcel is currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager for our Amesbury, MA location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • As a member of the site leadership team, build and lead a team of professionals that are accountable for Production Planning, Production Scheduling, Purchasing, Supplier Management, Supply Planning, and Shipping and Receiving functions.

  • Develop and lead Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, with other management team members/leaders, translating backlog and forecast demand into functional purchasing and manufacturing plans while considering manufacturing capacity and other constraints.

  • Oversees the buying and planning activities regarding raw materials, overhead/expense items, capital assets, equipment, machinery and maintenance supplies (MRO).

  • Ensures material requirements are met for both the internal and external supply chain through management of production-planning activities, resulting in a stable production plan with achievable build schedules.

  • Maintains appropriate inventory levels of all materials to optimize customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, and material storage and distribution costs.

  • Supports corporate and local policies, including the Quality Management and EHS Systems.

  • Regularly collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.

  • Develops, trains, and motivates team members to report, maintain, and act on appropriate measures while maximizing team resources.

  • Participates on the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be proficient in Part Definition and Bills of Material, Capacity Planning, MPS/MRP/ERP systems to include Shipping, Materials Costing, and Inventory Management.

  • Strong computer skills. Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite and general analytical abilities.

  • Must be able to read, analyze and interpret common business reports/data, financial reports, and effectively present information to employee groups and top management.

  • Must have excellent communication skills with ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and translate into functional and practical solutions.

  • Displays a passion for leading, organizing, developing, and training a newly created team; experience in any of these areas is a plus

  • APICS or other material management certification preferred

  • Solid vendor negotiation skills.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance preferred.
