Position Summary:
As a member of the Supply Chain and Engineering Operations team, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for collaborating with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners, contract manufacturers, and internal project managers to create aggregate directed-buy supply and demand forecasts, optimize system inventory and ensure on-time order fulfillment. Additional responsibilities include developing strategies and negotiating contracts across a third-party value chain, leading strategic continuous improvement activities, establishing and tracking supply chain performance metrics, and managing the procurement, logistics and supplier quality team. The ideal candidate will manage both the operational and personnel aspects of the supply chain, ensuring efficient processes and a collaborative team environment.
Essential Job Functions:
Team Leadership
Provide leadership and direct supervision of the supply chain team, including procurement, order fulfillment, replenishment planning, logistics and supplier quality functions, driving accountability at all levels
Mentor, coach and develop a collaborative and high-performing team environment, ensuring effective communication and coordination across all functions
Promote use of value stream mapping, continuous improvement techniques and skill set development
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product development, sales, and customer support, to align operational objectives with overall company goals
Replenishment and Order Fulfillment
Negotiate contracts, product costs, and delivery schedules with vendors and manufacturing partners
Develop and implement an effective & proactive forecast, planning and open order review process
Evaluate replenishment orders, open orders and adjust re-order levels to ensure timely fulfillment and appropriate safety stock; quickly adapt strategies to respond to changing market conditions and customer demands
Interface with internal teams, specifically Customer Operations, Product Management, and Sales, on order management responsibilities
Track the forecast and actual order and production rates of OEM and contract manufacturing partners
Inventory Management
Implement the inventory plan that aligns with customer demand and supply chain capability
Track and reconcile consignment inventory to ensure accurate monthly invoicing
Perform inventory transactions and tracking for internal component movement and engineering requests
Conduct inventory cycle counts within the ERP system,analyze collected data and research, reconcile, and report on any variances
Prepare variance reporting and reconcile discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy and integrity
Logistics
Ensure pre-shipment checklists are completed by responsible parties for machine readiness
Arrange logistics for domestic and international shipments following established procedures. Source and establish new logistics solutions as needed.
Track in-transit and inbound premium freight expense, ensuring management within proper guidelines
Identify and implement solutions to address evolving business needs and improve shipment efficiency
Data / Metrics
Establish and provide reporting of key supply chain metrics, such as on time delivery, inventory days on hand, cycle count accuracy, supply and demand forecasts versus actuals
Utilize advanced data analysis skills to create and develop actionable insights
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field
A minimum of 7 years of related business experience, with 5 years in a supervisory position
Experience in manufacturing operations with a strong technical background
Experience in financial planning and analysis as it relates to inventory control, RMAs, and warranty
Experience in developing and managing partner relationships (OEM, contract manufacturer, supplier, customer)
First-hand experience negotiating contracts, product costs, and delivery schedules with vendors and manufacturing partners
Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to inspire, develop, and lead teams to achieve outstanding results
Demonstrated experience using a customer-centric approach and driving key performance improvements
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:
Demonstrated expertise in supply chain management strategies and concepts
Demonstrated expertise in complex ERP systems providing experience from logic to application
Proficient in data analysis and forecasting tools, with the ability to develop actionable insights from data
Ability to plan, organize, and manage complex projects and develop improvement plans
Excellent problem solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and make effective decisions that achieve corrective results
In-depth knowledge of operational processes, quality control, and project management
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization and external partners
Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with a focus on achieving and maintaining high standards of performance
Proficient In Google Workspace and/or MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Salary Range:
The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in San Diego, California is $105,000 to $155,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Brain Corp is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
