Job Summary:

The Director, Supply Chain Management for Dorman Products is responsible for the development and deployment of supply chain strategies for an assigned portfolio of products for the North America automotive aftermarket. You will collaborate with functional leaders and internal stakeholders (in a highly matrixed environment) to drive alignment supply planning and sourcing priorities and programs. The Director, Supply Chain Management will be accountable for tactical supply planning/execution and supplier network management. Finally, you will partner with internal and external functional leaders to design and implement programs and initiatives to optimize supply chain investments, improve supplier network performance, and build organizational strength.


  • Lead an organization comprised of 2-3 experienced Supply Chain Managers (direct reports) and 12-15 supply chain and procurement professionals. Provide guidance and support in managing end-to-end supply chain performance and customer serviceability.

  • Partner with internal Product Management teams to facilitate the rapid introduction of new products and new customer programs.

  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to optimize spending, improve lead-times, accelerate speed to market, and reduce supply chain risks.

  • Manage supply planning and procurement business processes in accordance with company policies and practices.

  • Monitor key commodity and currency markets. Work with functional leaders to design strategies (and/or countermeasures) to maintain competitive leverage.

  • Monitor company warranty spending and identity supply chain drivers of warranty expense. Work in cooperation with functional leaders to design and deploy business strategies to reduce warranty spending.

  • Partner with Supply Chain Management leaders and stakeholders to gather external customer/industry insights, identify best practices, market trends, and innovation ideas. Work with functional leaders to deploy strategies to improve supply chain capabilities, increase customer value, and mitigate risks.

  • Build organizational strength and nurture a high-performance team environment. Implement strategies to promote professional development and leverage global capabilities.


  • Minimum 6-8 years of leadership/management experience.

  • Professional experience in supply chain management-including strategic sourcing, supplier network management, supply/demand planning, product introduction, business process and planning systems, and supply chain strategy development/deployment.

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across the enterprise. Promote teamwork and cooperation.

  • Proficient financial skills and knowledge, including optimizing resources to improve profitability.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including meeting facilitation and executive presentations.

  • Ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics to a broad and diverse audience.

  • Skilled in applying managerial concepts and techniques in areas such as project management, idea creation, employee development, coaching, counseling, and performance evaluation.

  • Demonstrated leadership in enabling a business environment that promotes continuous learning, empowerment, involvement, and opportunities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Industrial Engineering or related discipline

  • Advanced degree is a plus.

  • The position requires a strong leadership presence and a keen ability to partner with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to align priorities and mobilize resources to deliver results.

  • Minimal domestic travel, 1-2 business trips to Asia annually

Summary Sells parts to all customers, over the counter, through the shop or on the phone. Location: Bergey's Parts Warehouse, Colmar PA Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:30am-5:00pm Essential Duties * Assists all customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner. * Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line. * Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information. * Provides high level of service to internal and external customers. * Pulls and fills orders from stock. * Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention. * Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary. * Notifies the Manager and the customer when special ordered parts have been received. * Notifies the Manager when all parts have arrived and when they will be delivered. * Follows up on back-ordered parts. * Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors, or stocks those items not picked up or required. * Replenishes assigned inventory daily. * Assists outside sales representatives with their orders. * Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order. * Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization. * Ensures that all charge sales are signed by the customer. * Ensures that all customers receive their copy of the invoice. * Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified. * Keeps orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates and special-order parts. * Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery or pick-up. * Solicits assigned accounts by phone. * Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered. * Cleans computer terminals and printers daily. * Participates in all training programs that are made available. * Keeps current on new products and product updates. * Participates with the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program. * Maintains professional appearance. * Other tasks as assigned.
