Our Supply Chain and Logistics team mission is to provide top notch service to our stores and purchasing teams, contributing to the goal to make Grocery Outlet the first choice for bargain minded customers while touching lives for the better. Our team oversees the successful movement of products from our vendors to our stores and is self-motivated, passionate, and dedicated.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Senior Director- Supply Chain Strategy & Capabilities, the Manager, Supply Chain Continuous Improvement is responsible for leading a team of engineers, managing labor standards, developing new capabilities and process reviews to drive lean waste reduction strategies. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to self-identify areas of opportunity that add value to the supply chain and broader organization.

Responsibilities Include:

  • This individual will be a key member of our Engineering team, leading initiatives to develop and improve our products, processes, and systems.

  • The Manager, Supply Chain Continuous Improvement, will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to create and implement innovative solutions for process improvements.

  • Demonstrate a successful track record of leading engineering projects from conception to launch, and hand over to operations, with a focus on quality, service, cost & safety.

  • Recruit, mentor, and motivate the Engineering team, manage, and develop the team providing controls and oversite of warehouse labor standards, report development and maintaining our labor management system.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with cross functional internal and external partners.

  • Works closely with regional leadership teams to identify and assess future projects to deliver enhanced operational success & sustainability.

  • Implement best practices for engineering processes and provide technical guidance and direction to the team, and other members of the Supply Chain team.

  • Analyze and optimize engineering processes and technologies.

  • Foster and develop a highly effective team of Product Engineers to test, analyze, and pilot, test and develop new capabilities to support our existing supply chain network.

  • Facilitate a close working relationship with other supply chain team and cross functional partners to manage and prioritize issue resolution and process improvements while communicating risk, timing, cost, and value to the broader organization.

  • Think laterally, provide analysis, make suggestions, and implement processes that improve product quality, reliability, and sustainability.

  • Mentor and train the Engineering team by evaluating employees' performance, recognizing areas for improvement, and providing reliable solutions to problems that may impact the team's effectiveness.

About the Pay:

  • Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000

Final compensation will be determined based upon experience and skills and may vary based on location.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/supply chain or a related field 5-7 years' progressive experience in an engineering role.

  • Previous management experience required.

  • Capable of being a strong motivator and source of direction for your team and role modelling commitment to your team's goals.

  • Have a people-oriented mentality and be able to build meaningful relationships with senior leadership on your team and in other departments.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey products, deliverables and analyses clearly and confidently, and recognize and adapt to different communication techniques.

  • Be able to analyze and understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions, come up with and evaluate unique solutions, and see those solutions through to completion.

  • Be independent and self-motivated and demonstrate a high degree of creativity, flexibility, and resourcefulness.

  • Have a strong sense of urgency in driving projects to completion and be motivated to achieve outcomes and results.

  • Can thrive in a dynamic environment and efficiently manage multiple or complex projects while continuously looking for new and enhanced ways of doing things.

  • Possess effective Microsoft Windows and Office skills, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
