Responsibilities

Provide contract analysis and apply drill-down methods to verify and validate contract optimization and opportunities. The primary focus of this role will be to promote utilization of the GPO contracts to capture and report associated savings impact, support product conversions and perform system activities to manage supply chain operations. This position will report analyses to Director but also can work with hospital leadership on various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identification and implementation of cost saving opportunities, measure contract performance and assess the value of new or renegotiated contracts.

  • Identify best value from a cost/benefit perspective, including comparison of old pricing to new pricing, and cross reference of products when necessary.

  • Conduct analysis to measure and monitor contract participation

  • Administers and supports the Value Analysis Program, which includes identification and execution of standardization, utilization, and sourcing opportunities for clinical products, medical devices and physician preference items (PPI).

  • Assists Corporate Clinical Leaders with providing product usage, approved contracted vendors and cost information as needed for their specific product-related initiatives.

  • This includes strategy development, vendor communication, negotiation, benchmarking proposed pricing, and execution of contract.

  • Acts as a liaison between acute care departments and Corporate Contracting as hospitals work on facility-based agreement.

  • Work with Corporate and Regional Directors to develop strategies, identify opportunities, and implement cost saving projects / opportunities as needed.

  • Work with data analytics tools Advanced excel, Tableau software, Click and local GPO tools; work with technology tools to proactively identify cost savings opportunities through product/contract conversion, and price parity.

  • Develop and maintains positive, professional relationships with all stakeholders. Keeps abreast of current market trends.

  • Monitor supplier performance. Prepares and implements action plans with follow-up for suppliers failing to meet performance requirements.

  • Overall contract participation activities with special emphasis on Strategic contracts.

  • Monitor contract tier levels and overall contract participation activities to assist in maximizing value under GPO contracts.

  • Coordinate "Vendor Review Meetings" with identified/specified suppliers as requested.

  • Review or conduct market basket analyses to support contract implementation efforts.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree (preferred) or Bachelor's degree required.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience.

  • Interpreting large data sets and integrating, manipulating and reporting out on analyses required (MMIS Lawson and Meditech, GHX).

  • Translating analytical results into effective presentation summaries.

  • Prior experience in a material management, supply chain, value analysis, and/or contracting for a hospital strongly preferred.

This position reports to the Assistant Manager and provides support in the development of strategic and operational planning tools which support purchasing, forecasting and the overall supply chain network. This position will use SAP, Excel, and other specific software tools to analyze material flows from raw material planning to the end-customer sales.
