Under general supervision of the Supply Chain Director - Procurement responsible for analyzing the effectiveness of existing procurement processes as it relates to the supply chain activity ensuring manufacturer performance and AmerisourceBergen objectives are aligned. Recommends and contributes to improved strategies in order to improve margins as a result of these efforts.

  • Evaluates business processes and designs develops and implements improvements that reduce cost improve effectiveness and improves the quality or magnitude of the end result.

  • Develops new solutions to various tactical challenges ABC faces as it relates to procuring product managing supplier relations and meeting business objectives.

  • Trains others in the solutions designed to carry the process in the Operate and Maintain mode.

  • Acts as an internal consultant to other procurement areas in support of procurement projects to improve buy-side profits inventory productivity or overall team effectiveness.

  • Participates in Supply and Demand Chain projects across the organization.

  • Works closely with suppliers and other functional areas in order to improve performance.

  • Develops value-added services and solutions to respond to manufacturer needs.

  • Develops decision support models supporting policy decisions in the supply chain activity.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration accountancy sales marketing computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires two (2) to four (4) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail

  • Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Receives and processes documents for accuracy, which requires complex knowledge of customers, carriers, and procedures. * Processes operational data in software systems and applications, identifies missing or potential operational or service concerns, and resolves with the appropriate groups. * Utilizes databases, logs, and other sources to locate and verify information; information is usually complex in nature. * Identifies and completes services or assists others that require special or expedited handing. * Addresses complex or escalated internal or external customer questions and concerns regarding shipments, billing, status, services, carriers, and other needs. * Tracks orders and shipments and assists with tracing as needed; usually more complex, domestic and may involve international operations. * Runs, analyzes and summarizes operational reports and details; presents information to co-workers or supervisors are needed. * Interfaces with airlines, shipping, truck and related carriers to understand requirements, track shipments or details; operations are typically complex in nature. * Prepares information required for quotes or address potential services; provides more complex quotes. * Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and a safe and effective work environment; assists others with understanding operational items. * Develops critical relationships with internal or external customers, assists with account management such as maintaining customer profiles, details and service needs. * Creates and processes invoices, reviews for operational accuracy, works with customers on questions and payment; assists others as needed. * Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: * High School Diploma or GED required. * Associates Degree, or equivalent combination of work experience is preferred. Experience: * Two years of specialized logistics or related operations support experience. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Developing relationships with customers and internal operations. * Advanced operational and support principles and practices in supply chain environments. * Applying and following policies and procedures. * Utilizing databases and systems to review and verify logistics and transportation information. * Relaying communications between carriers, providers, and customers. * Preparing and handing off transportation and logistics requirements. * Tracking and tracing shipments or product, typically domestic and more complex. * Working with providers, carriers and services in a transportation/logistics environment. * Identifying operational delays. * Communicating and working to resolve potential concerns or delays. * Operating in a fast pace and changing logistics/transportation environment. * Operating in both a team and individual contributor environment. * Communicating with co-workers to provide and receive direction. * Preparing operational reports, queries, and service information. * Preparing quotes and service details. * Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. * Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
