Job Description:
3M is seeking a Supply Chain Analyst for the 3M Industrial Adhesives and Tape Division located in Cottage Grove, MN. At 3M, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter. Here, you go.

Job Summary:

The person hired for this Supply Chain Analyst position will manage product flow from RM to shipping in support customer requirements. Alignment of planning systems and SAP deployment in 2019 will also be a critical part of the position. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Production scheduling

  • Material procurement for a specified group of products.

  • Review and update material flow parameters

  • Recommend and manage RM, and semi-finished inventory levels to support business/customer requirements.

  • Track and report on key supply chain metrics (Service, Inventory Dollars, Inventory Turns, and Non-Working Inventory).

This role will also be responsible for identifying and implementing ways to improve customer service, inventory investment, and supply chain efficiency to achieve measurable results.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and execute capacity, production and procurement plans for designated manufacturing lines and associated products

  • Plan and Execute supply chain related activities to achieve business and corporate goals

  • Lead and/or participate in projects/implementations that identify and improve customer service, inventory investment and supply chain effectiveness

  • Review and report on project progress with management

  • Provides a high degree of planning analysis to support decision making

  • Works closely with the business unit to understand customer requirements and forecasts

  • Works closely with manufacturing to ensure alignment to business requirements by setting and maintaining sufficient inventory levels and lead times

  • Manages the S&OP process

  • Actively manage working and non-working inventories in assigned businesses to maintain compliance and achieve inventory investment targets

  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve service, inventory turns, and non-working inventory

  • Work with partner divisions and external customers to optimize extended value streams

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of two (2) years of combined experience in logistics and/or supply chain experience in a private, public, government, or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution in Supply Chain, Operations Management, and/or Business Administration

  • Two (2) years of experience in a Supply Chain role in a manufacturing setting

  • APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) Certification, if not complete at the time, certification will become accomplished within a reasonable period

  • Six Sigma Green Belt project experience and/or certification

  • Proven attention to detail and driving continuous improvement

  • Experience with SAP

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing

  • Demonstrated experience and/or training in Lean Manufacturing and Corporate Supply Chain Planning. Systems such as: SAP, Rhythm Factory Planner, Peoplesoft, IMES, COMS, Business Objects, Microsoft Excel

Location: Cottage Grove, MN

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Relocation: Is authorized
