HOW YOU WILL DO IT

Purpose Statement: This position is assists with updating and maintaining supplier controls in regards to quality and compliance for incoming raw materials and services.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Verification of Purchased Product
  • Performs part verification activities against defined criteria. Complete necessary documentation to provide objective evidence of product conformance.
  • Supplier Performance Monitoring
  • Support data collection with regards to supplier Quality performance information, to ensure metrics are accurate.
  • Material Issues
  • Support NCM management through problem investigation, reporting activity or segregation of NCM parts designated as Supplier related NCM.

Additional Accountabilities:

  • Assists in establishing incoming quality requirements to ensure correct parts are received and verified for product quality prior to their issuance into manufacturing.

  • Reviews product inspection history to make future inspection decisions.

  • Reviews parts that have been rejected by the production floor to determine root cause so that parts can be pre-dispositioned.

  • Assists in driving supplier quality improvement.

  • Defines supplier quality requirements in purchase orders (via Q-Codes) for supplier flow-down and in inspection requirements in Receiving Inspection instructions.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a High School degree is required; an Associates Degree is preferred.
  • 1 year of related experience is preferred

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.

Other Qualifications:

  • Broad understanding of materials, manufacturing technologies and processes

Work Environment:

  • The work setting should consist of a manufacturing environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a moderate noise level.

HOW YOU WILL DO IT Purpose Statement: The Supervisor - Quality role manages the quality team as the key liaison between manufacturing and the customer, ensuring that overall customer quality and regulatory requirements and expectations are met and product meets all specifications. The Supervisor - Quality is responsible for implementation of strategies which support the customers' needs and may lead, train and mentor other site level engineers. Responsible for the management and execution of the site quality staff including Quality Management Systems (QMS) and sustaining the quality policy and culture. Key Job Accountabilities: * Drive site product and process quality improvement using function-appropriate tools (i.e. CAPA, audit, etc.). * Understanding of, and primary customer interface for all customer quality specifications and requirements. * Coach, manage and mentor individuals and cross-functional teams in quality systems, tools, and philosophies. * Create and facilitate quality metrics reporting and communication tools. * Identify and communicate information to correct Factory discipline relative to product quality and defect prevention, product disposition, and rework and/or repair activity. * Accountable to execute on Plexus' Best People strategy, leaders will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning and ensuring that their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential. Additional Accountabilities: * Ensure Quality participation and provide quality input for QBR's. * Define and manage all customer quality plans with team. * Facilitate all quality-related activities associated with customer product introductions within PPQP, etc. * Approval of all product changes (ECOs, deviations, validations, etc.) to ensure customer requirements and expectations are met, and verification that changes are correctly implemented. * Monitor processes (through auditing, metrics, etc.) to ensure product health support external audit activities relative to product requirements. * Support product and process changes and evolution, ensuring product quality integrity is maintained. * Support Supplier Quality in supplier issues and improvements (RI, NCM, MRB, etc.). * Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated <10%).</li> * Additional duties as assigned.
