Supplier Quality Supervisor Global Automotive Parts Manufacturer

Salary Up To $100,000 + Excellent Benefits & Relocation Package to our Southern facility

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Supervisor for a highly-automated state-of-the-art automotive parts manufacturing facility. This growing global team focused company is seeking a Supplier QE on their way up, as there is opportunity for growth and advancement - your opportunity to be a part of a great team!

Primary function will be to monitor and communicate quality issues for purchased components and assemblies from containment through 8-D closure. The Supplier Quality Engineering Supervisor is also an integral part of the PPAP sample verification and documentation management system. Will be working closely with the Global Resources assisting in local change management processes.

Youll need to be effective at defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions. You will need to be proficient in general business correspondence to the external suppliers as well as an effective communicator so to clearly articulate supplier defect issues and be ready to respond to questions in regards to these issues.

Your main responsibilities are:

Implementation of customer quality requirements & maintaining the integrity for quality processes and procedures

Travel to customer sites as you help our suppliers meet our quality expectations

Work with the new product developments

Work with

Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Process Flow, Corrective Action Process, and Problem Solving Methodologies (5-Why, 8D, etc.)

Ensure part quality requirements and issues are communicated effectively to suppliers

Demonstrate quality principles, systems, measurement and statistical techniques

Organize and maintain supplier PPAP database

Coordinate change of management process with suppliers

Support follow up on customers for identified PPAP requirement.

The salary range for this Supplier Quality Engineering position is up to $100,000 plus Excellent Benefits & Relocation Package to our Southern facility. Requirements for this Senior Supplier Quality Engineer Supervisors position:

Bachelors degree engineering

Five years Quality experience working with suppliers in the Automotive industry

Solid working knowledge of quality techniques such as TS 16949, ISO, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, & ASQ

Knowledge of SPC

Able to travel Internationally

Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certificate will garner you immediate attention

Primary focus will be supplier quality engineering efforts related to coatings raw materials on all products. Measure, prevent, react and enforce processes and procedures to manage suppliers proactively and reactively. This includes initial selection and qualification of suppliers, new product introduction, continuous improvement and development throughout the life-cycle of the supplier, and cross-functional support for all related programs. Support the development and implementation of business wide coatings strategy impacting supply chain and raw materials into GEA manufacturing sites. What you will Do * Own all aspects of quality engineering and project management for suppliers of assigned commodity. This includes qualification of suppliers, continuous ownership and development throughout the life-cycle of the supplier. * Utilize technical expertise in assigned commodity design and manufacturing equipment to work with suppliers in developing optimal product designs and manufacturing processes. * Initiate and lead the 9-step process with the use of Lean/Six Sigma tools by partnering with Technology to identify, understand and abate issues for NPI and C changes. * Conduct Critical Part Risk Reviews related to system performance, reliability or quality. * Lead projects involving supplier moves, process and material changes. Support design change projects. * Interface with coating suppliers, applicators and manufacturing sites to improve coatings initiatives for the business. * Identify new coating's processes, tools and contacts within the industry – including new suppliers, instruments, or processes to further advance the business. * Champion the use of quality tools, Supplier Composite Scorecard and other data to identify and drive quality projects across all suppliers resulting in the overall improvement of supplier value to GEA (Delivery, quality, cost) * Monitor and resolve supplier process control performance issues by developing robust quality control plans and implementing sustainable corrective actions * Drive permanent resolution of manufacturing issues and consumer issues caused by supplier defects. * Lead projects involving supplier moves, process and material changes. Support design change projects. * Lead Supplier Quality initiatives, and develop activities to fix-or-exit problematic suppliers by implementing robust corrective actions or qualifying alternate suppliers. * Lead problem definition and reactive problem solving through containment, identification of root cause and corrective action with SCAR. * Ability to simplify complex information and concisely prepare both verbal and written executive summaries to the Appliance Leadership Team. * Lead and own Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements associated with a change. * Perform annual audits to monitor supplier QMS (Quality Management System) compliance and effectiveness. * Identify areas for cost reduction across assigned supplier base including internal supplier process, quality improvements, Variable Cost Productivity (VCP) and material usage. * Develop a system of approval and control for the coating/decorating supply base to be utilized by Sourcing Leadership to drive long term, sustainable improvements. Leverage expertise to influence Sourcing global supplier coatings commodity strategy. #LI-CC1 What you need to Succeed Minimum Qualifications: * Engineering or Technical degree (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) or equivalent technical experience * Minimum 5 years Supply Chain, Quality and/or Technical experience in manufacturing environment * Strong background in applying statistical tools for process and product development and control (i.e. Gage R&R, Process Capability, Control Plans, SPC, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Design of Experiments (DOEs)). * Skilled and experienced with reading and understanding prints, dimensions and tolerances. * Experienced with problem solving tools and techniques (i.e. 8-D, 5 Whys, 7 Ways, DOE, eCAR, Fishbone, Pareto, Six Sigma, First Piece, PPAP). * Experienced with coatings, physical evaluation methods and measurement techniques. * Demonstrated project management and organizational skills * Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written * Demonstrated leadership to influence and drive change within a highly matrixed organization.
