This role will lead supplier quality and internal quality groups for the Cleveland Operation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the supplier quality engineering team to drive suppliers to meet our "zero" defect requirement

  • In depth knowledge of the automotive (Advanced product quality planning) APQP/PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) process

  • Provide the leadership for our SQE team to drive the 8D and PPAP requirements to meet our service incident rate targets

  • Lead the internal support operations quality team to provide defect free parts to our assembly customer. Design & maintain quality systems as necessary to meet this requirement.

  • Develop and report the supplier quality targets to support the overall category quality strategy to become the undisputed quality leader in the industry

  • Track and coordinate key SIR project plans to achieve targets and partner with cross-functional teams to prioritize activities

  • Manage the systems of quality data analysis and reporting processes to detect issues early, drive containment actions and sustained corrective actions

  • Ensure the quality system is in compliance with Whirlpool quality system standards (procedures, work instructions, controlled forms, process FMEA's, control plans, audits, etc.)

  • Facilitate new model launch activity by interacting with project leads, supplier development, and other process partners to mitigate risk and ensure a plan exists for every part

  • Assist in Developing Supplier Safe Launch Plans for new programs

  • Maintain and inspire a dependable and dedicated workforce through open communications and the ability to drive and sustain change

  • Interface with trade partners and suppliers

  • Select, coach and develop exceptional leaders

  • Manage rapid response technician associates working in the Supplier Nonconforming area

  • Coordinating and documenting the Supplier Cost Recovery process

  • Manage the calibration process in the facility

  • Coordinate the activities of the electronics lab technician

  • Manage the supplier quality metrics reporting for the facility and provide corporate reports as required

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and office environment, walk long distances, stand on feet for long periods of time, minor lifting (generally 30 lbs. or less) and travel by car and airplane (typically 15% or less)

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 7+ years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Requirements

  • Advanced technical degree, Black Belt and/or (Certified Quality Engineer ) CQE certification are a plus

  • Proven success in leading quality projects from inception through completion with direct responsibility for execution

  • Leadership experience in large manufacturing and/or equipment design & build environment

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead teams consisting of engineering and operations professionals

  • Understanding and practical application of fundamental quality tools and statistics used for problem solving

  • Experience in applying technical knowledge to solve a range of problems

  • Strong communication skills. Effectively sharing and obtaining information from internal and external parties

  • Ability to work cooperatively with people at all levels of the organization

  • In-depth computer skills related to specific needs of the position

  • Strong decision making skills, with a drive to proactively obtain complete and accurate information

What You Will Need: Basic Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED * Three (3) years or more of experience managing quality and process improvements within a manufacturing environment * Leadership skills and the ability to motivate people to create value and eliminate waste * Experience using statistical tools for data analysis * Root cause analysis and cause mapping experience * Experience with managing and maintaining customer relations through written and verbal communications (may require minimal travel to address customer needs) * Experience with third-party quality audits * Experience with managing third party certifications of quality and product safety systems * Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and compliance regulations including wearing safety equipment * Experience with Microsoft Word (document creation), Excel (creating and analyzing spreadsheets), and Outlook (email and calendar) What Will Put You Ahead?
