The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible and accountable for the Semi-Conductor Customer Quality program. The successful candidate will effectively develop and implement procedures, systems, programs and studies for the purpose of making continuous improvements to the MacDermid Alpha supply base, the quality of purchased goods and services, and the costs associated with performing verification of the Quality of purchased goods and services. Preferred candidates will be engaged, hungry to implement change and understand the broader responsibility that the Quality function has within the business.
Develop and implement written procedures to ensure expectations to suppliers are clear, communicated internally and externally.
Possess familiarity with ISO9001/IATF 16949 quality management standards
Develop and manage the Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Able to work with matrix organization by developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal (procurement, R&D, engineering) and external stakeholders to ensure supplier issues are resolved in a timely manner enabling production and development needs
Develop quality systems and tools to ensure suppliers are meeting requirements and specifications and to ensure effective for the tracking of supplier performance.
Conduct supplier assessments/audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement. Maintain records of all supplier assessments/audits utilizing the Supplier Assessment schedule. Manager supplier interaction to close observations and findings in a timely manner.
Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.
Manage the Supplier Corrective Action process by driving root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier quality issues
Drive the supplier change management process efficiently and effectively in a timely manner to prevent potential production or customer issues
Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting requirements.
Ensure the documentation and communication both internally and externally of supplier performance as related to on time delivery, conformance to specifications, responsiveness and other measures, through supplier audits, corrective action verification and status reporting.
5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering/Assurance
Previous experience with supplier quality engineering/quality
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Chemistry, Engineering, etc)
Semiconductor industry experience a plus.
Good team player with hands on ability and attitude
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems
Ability to quickly develop realistic, effective, methodical, and comprehensive action plans, and executes tasks to completion.
Able to thrive on ambiguity and take ownership of his/her work
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, JD Edwards ERP, Minitab SPC are preferred.
Ability to travel up to 25% may be required
