General Purpose:

The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible and accountable for the Semi-Conductor Customer Quality program. The successful candidate will effectively develop and implement procedures, systems, programs and studies for the purpose of making continuous improvements to the MacDermid Alpha supply base, the quality of purchased goods and services, and the costs associated with performing verification of the Quality of purchased goods and services. Preferred candidates will be engaged, hungry to implement change and understand the broader responsibility that the Quality function has within the business.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement written procedures to ensure expectations to suppliers are clear, communicated internally and externally.

  • Possess familiarity with ISO9001/IATF 16949 quality management standards

  • Develop and manage the Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Able to work with matrix organization by developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal (procurement, R&D, engineering) and external stakeholders to ensure supplier issues are resolved in a timely manner enabling production and development needs

  • Develop quality systems and tools to ensure suppliers are meeting requirements and specifications and to ensure effective for the tracking of supplier performance.

  • Conduct supplier assessments/audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement. Maintain records of all supplier assessments/audits utilizing the Supplier Assessment schedule. Manager supplier interaction to close observations and findings in a timely manner.

  • Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.

  • Manage the Supplier Corrective Action process by driving root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier quality issues

  • Drive the supplier change management process efficiently and effectively in a timely manner to prevent potential production or customer issues

  • Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)

  • Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting requirements.

  • Ensure the documentation and communication both internally and externally of supplier performance as related to on time delivery, conformance to specifications, responsiveness and other measures, through supplier audits, corrective action verification and status reporting.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering/Assurance

  • Previous experience with supplier quality engineering/quality

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Chemistry, Engineering, etc)

  • Semiconductor industry experience a plus.

  • Good team player with hands on ability and attitude

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems

  • Ability to quickly develop realistic, effective, methodical, and comprehensive action plans, and executes tasks to completion.

  • Able to thrive on ambiguity and take ownership of his/her work

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, JD Edwards ERP, Minitab SPC are preferred.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% may be required

JOB SUMMARY The CAPA Manager will manage and drive all aspects of the corrective action preventive action process towards a goal of reducing quality events and out of specification products. This position will assure compliance to food safety and quality standards throughout our West Haven and Orange sites. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsibilities: * Ensures that CAPAs and NCR's are issued, investigated, root cause is determined/documented and that they are closed on time with appropriate and effective corrective action/resolutions * Follow up and document that preventative actions are in place and working effectively. * Coordinates with internal teams on corrective/preventative action plans and Non-Conformance Report's * Updates NCRs in quality system with appropriate action plans. * Reports on CAPA and NCR status to management groups * Participates in audits as needed * Performs trend analysis on identified issues * Investigates Quality Events and develop preventive action. * May provide formal response relating to QE's in our CRM, or direct to the Customer. * Trouble shoots daily quality issues relating to production, warehousing, maintenance and quality control assays, customer service and R&D. * Assures that the company is in compliance with its Quality System. * Works with all departments in a positive manner to achieve the company's quality goals. * Assigns work and performs all necessary supervisory duties of staff including but not limited to: Interviewing; Hiring and termination recommendations; Training; Performance reviews; Disciplinary actions; etc. * Maintains up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect quality issues. * Leads the CAPA meetings and is responsible for the success of these meetings. * Responsible for answering, tracking, and closing all customer complaints in a timely manner - "quality events". * Works with customers, other departments and suppliers to expedite and or resolve quality problems to ensure quality expectations are met. * Supervises QA inspectors for our West Haven and Orange sites * Subject matter expert for QA processes * Evaluates quality and food safety issues to determine putting products on hold and issues dispositions. QUALIFICATIONS Education, Training: * Bachelor's Degree in food science and technology, chemistry or related field of study with 5- 8 years direct leadership responsibility for a CAPA team in an FDA regulated manufacturing environment. Experience Required: * 2-5 years of problem solving and trouble-shooting quality issues in a manufacturing environment with some leadership responsibility. * Preferred 5- 8 years direct leadership responsibility for a CAPA team in an FDA regulated manufacturing environment. Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: * Knowledge of inspection and quality assurance best practices in a manufacturing environment * Knowledge of the principles and practices of food safety and quality systems related to the food and supplement industries. - LEAN manufacturing knowledge a plus. * Knowledge of applicable FDA regulations * Understanding of root cause analysis and conducting investigations. * Ability to identify and solve problems. * Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written. * Ability to create reports. * Working knowledge of: cGMPs, Allergens, 21 CFR Part 110/111/117, HACCP, FSMA, PCQI. * Strong organizational skills along with excellent oral and written communication ability. * Leadership and supervisory skills. * Demonstrated effective analysis and corrective action implementation techniques. * Proficient user of windows based computer programs including word processing, spreadsheet, data management, internet and e-mail. TYPICAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITY Physical Requirements: * May be required to push and or pull carts with wheels containing product being moved about the building. * May be required to climb fixed stairs to access loading platforms. * Will be required to perform some duties while on the production/warehouse floor with airborne particles and moderate noise. * Lifting up to 25-30 pounds may be required occasionally throughout the week.
