Your responsibilities

Position Summary:
Develop and manage processes and systems aimed towards supply chain quality (Volkswagen, thyssenkrupp, and suppliers), continuous improvement, safety, process optimization, and environmental responsibility.Responsibility / Activity:

  • Lead efforts to develop suppliers and continuously evaluate & improve supplier quality performance

  • Manage module & component approval processes in BeON, including IMDS submissions

  • Work with the customer, thyssenkrupp colleagues, and suppliers to manage planned changes and react to problems

  • Manage the supplier problem report process, track issues, review responses, and escalate as needed

  • Oversee the receiving inspection process including technicians, sorting companies, quarantine, etc.

  • Give technical direction to production, quality technicians, maintenance, & individual team members

  • Approve supplier component packaging and release authority for supplier quality requirements

  • Disposition of suspect/non-conforming material and quarantine authority

  • Operate appropriately within respective areas of the Quality Program

  • Additional responsibilities and activities may be added on a need basis, as assigned by management

Your profile


  • Minimum education requirement: Bachelor's degree preferred or Associates degree with relevant experience

  • Preferred education requirement: Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree

  • Technical and administrative skills: Knowledge of a wide variety of manufacturing processes

  • High knowledge in Quality Systems (ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14000, OHSAS 18000, VW FORMEL-Q)

  • Ability to analyze problems with data, make a decision based on risk, and present the logic to others

  • Experience/tact in dealing directly with the external parties, potentially in high pressure situations

  • Six Sigma knowledge and previous experience in a "just in sequence" operation (preferred)

  • Previous experience working in automotive supplier quality would be ideal


  • 2 to 4 years of experience in the same job position or similar labor activities.

  • Needs experience in production environments (preferably automotive) with semi-automated assembly.

VIEW JOBS 12/7/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-07T00:00 Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) - Automotive (Contract/1099) Position Summary: Reporting to the TreQ (QEC) manager, the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for coordinating suppliers and verifying quality standards in accordance with the requirements of their organization. You will actively participate in strategic development based on quality control plans. You will manage the supply chain, serve as liaison for suppliers, suggest quality and process improvements, and collaborate with other engineers in a team environment. Additionally, you will discover gaps in a process with suppliers and implement root cause and corrective actions. You will increase quality reliability, use skills to do high level problem solving. More principal tasks will be to maintain accurate records, conduct capability assessments that validate and verify supplier qualifications, travel to assigned suppliers as required, and lead multiple projects to completion. You must manage process controls. In addition, you will measure readiness throughout the product development cycle. A bachelor's degree in engineering is required for this position. You must use your advanced analytical skills to find innovative solutions to quality-related issues. You must have strong communication skills to make progress reports and present their findings to the supervisor in their department. Quality Engineer Tasks * Keeping the customer updated with the necessary information (daily reports, protocols, statistics etc.) * Report supplier performance and quality to management, and provide quality solutions * Oversee projects start to finish, be hands on and proactive in finding quality issues * Excellent problem solving skills, including experience preparing problem solving documents such as 8D's * Assist in the development and implementation of supplier programs * Recommend and Implement cost-effective corrective actions * Maintain successful relationships with supplier, engineering, manufacturing, and other * Supporting and coordinating the PPAP process * Preparing management reports based on customer expectations (main quality KPIs) * Preparing the work instruction and its related documents and approving the work instructions * Clarification of the technical details and customer requirements of a new mission/project * Project management skills and High Level Organization skills required * Highly proficient with Microsoft Office * Highly proficient with Microsoft Project * Proven track record of creating error free and detailed work instructions required * Ability to multi-task and change responsibilities as needed * Strong Knowledge of Automotive core tools is a must * Fulfilling other demands coming from the customer * Ensuring the continuous availability on site * Six Sigma Methodology a bonus * Travel may be required (minimum 50%) * Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills; both written and verbal Experience: * 5+ years manufacturing experience * Minimum 3 years Quality experience (Automotive) Education: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering Required We offer an attractive compensation package.
